The videos on this site have really gone downhill. And Rachel Ray is just about the unsexiest woman on earth. Whatever happened to that sensual British female with her own cooking show (I can't remember her name)...but she is HOT!!

Sorry to alarm anyone (all 3 people who use the embed tags here). I discovered that my previous comment about the embed code not working was a bit premature. Turns out, the code is truncated in Safari, but not in Firefox. Go figure.

Of course she always likes the food! The $40 a day crew scouts the restaurants weeeks or months in advance and makes filming arrangements. If the food is crap they don't go. Did you think they just showed up with a film crew?! The restaurant knows she's coming and she gets the best of everything. Concerning the waitstaff, I'm sure the amount she tips is the least of their concerns. They get on television and don't even have to sing badly! Besides, if memory serves she tips 15% and that's what's STILL recommended in many guides.

As to those who thing she's too perky, too positive or (gasp) says "yum-o". I usuually find that these are the people who think Rosie O'Donnell is the perfect model of a television host.

i agree!!!!!!!!!!! as a former waitress i am appalled at rachael ray's extremely cheap tips.you know the servers must hate her. & a grown woman saying yum-o is just flat out creepy.acfb

At least it's not vid clips of her famously obnoxious acronyms, or the panicky way she stumbles through 30 minutes of cooking crappy meals.

As someone with 8 years in the food service industry, It's amazing to me that they find servers to serve her - she doesn't tip properly! It's easy to eat on $40 a day if you're forcing the server to pay the taxes on your meal.

I saw her over-the-top, sugary, syrupy mug on my favorite box of crackers in the grocery store last night. I don't buy that brand of crackers anymore.

Rachel Ray is an irritating hack, but she's a famous irritating hack that some people actually enjoy watching. This is why, as Rob Anderson points out, there are a lot of web sties devoted to pointing out what a loser she is. Of course, I think this means Rob Anderson is jealous -- if only he were a little more famous, maybe he'd have websites devoted to his hackery as well.

I just don't believe her. Yes, she's a performer all right, and not at all convincing. Whenever I watch Rachael Ray, I feel like I'm listening to someone trying to get me to buy into Amway or something.

Two problems with this video.

First, it's a bit too long.

Second, it needs to end with the end of that scene in "When Harry Met Sally" -- the one with Rob Reiner's mother.

She came over to the computer to see what all the "mmmms" were about.

Watch the video a 2nd time while imagining somebody is down there.

It's just a theory of mine.

Rachel seems to have different sounds for slightly different reactions: "mmmm," "mm-hmm!", and a double "mmm" where the 2nd "mmm" is a slightly higher pitch.

She also has some body-language variations:

-- a quick side-to-side nose twitch

-- quick eye rolling

-- fork twirling

I think we should study these differences and find out what they mean.

Rachel Ray never seems to eat a dish she doesn't like. Either she's been remarkably lucky in selecting her restaurants, or there's a whole pile of tapes lying around somewhere that show her gagging and spitting out the food. Somebody find those, please.
