auto reload of video dog really annoying

This isn't really about this video, per se, except that it happened while I was in the middle of watching it. This is not the first time that this has happened, and I have a fast connection (cable).

It took a few minutes for the video to download, and then another few for me to get around to watching it. Then, half way though, the page autoreloaded and I had to start all over.

Annoying.

If you have a page that involves lots of downloading and then lots of time watching (at least sometimes) it makes no sense at all to mess up the experience by reloading on the user. Please make it stop.

Background on this?

Obviously it's a comedy video meant to be funny, but the 'Canadian-ness' of Clark seems a little overblown. As a Canadian myself, I'm just not buying the accent. Is Clark a real Canadian or just an American trying (and failing) to put on a Canadian accent? Either way, the clip is only moderately entertaining. We certainly don't mind laughing at ourselves, but this just isn't striking me as laugh-out-loud funny. Maybe if we added some jokes about maple syrup and canoes...

I dunno

Well the actor's last name is Vachon...so it's entirely possible that he's canadian (or maybe an american REALLY in tune with canadian snack cakes ;)

I thought it was pretty funny, the bit at the beginning where he mutters about the "garbage goal"? Funny stuff that.

haha

I thought it was pretty funny. Im Canadian and thought it was very good. And come on, those accents are pretty good, maybe not close to people's out here on he west coast, but that sounded pretty Ontario to me. Thunder Bay possibly?

Well, I Don't Know...

...whether "Clark" is an authentic Canadian or not. All I know is, I'm a baseball fan, and a hockey fan, and this is one of the funniest damn things I've seen in a long time!

The actor playing Clark is Canadian - and a former hockey player

Quick google search turned up this on Nick Vachon, the actor playing Clark, the Canadian Goalie:

"Montreal native Nick Vachon spent parts of two years in the United States playing college hockey before returning to Canada to play Junior with the Portland Winter Hawks. Though he was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs, he never played in their organization, instead turning pro with the Atlanta Knights of the International League. In 1995 he signed a free agent deal with the Los Angeles Kings and early in the 1996-97 season, L.A. traded him to the New York Islanders in exchange for Chris Marinucci.

Now with his third NHL organization, Vachon learned that the third time was the charm. The Islanders called him up for a game during that season. Vachon, a center who wore #21 with Isles, was unable to crack the score sheet in his only NHL match, however.

Vachon played one more season after that. The 1997-98 campaign was split between the Long Beach Ice Dogs and the Springfield Falcons then Vachon hung up his skates."

Back to Canada to play for Portland?

That's funny. Yes, he went to Portland, Ore., to play for the Canadian Major Junior Portland Winter Hawks (he was a winger, not a goalie).

Here are his stats on hockeydb.com:

For what it's worth, I think it's hilarious, ya friggin' hosers! (Go Winter Hawks!)

The only problem with the clip

Not a single "eh" and I'm supposed to believe he's Canadian? Come on, you Canucks can't go for two minutes without saying "eh!"

All in good fun, folks. All in good fun. Don't get mad aboowt it.
