Why is this on video?
Again Salon demonstrates a failure to understand the purpose of video.
Video is for things that need a visual component. Simple as that. Things that are enhanced by video, or incomplete without video.
Some guy just talking would be a much better presentation in text. Especially if the person talking is not a very good speaker.
Graham Hill may or may not have important things to say. I don't know. I couldn't stand watching his inept presentation, and clicked it off about a third of the way through. I would like a chance to read his words. I am not going to suffer through his amateurish presentation.
Please, Salon, figure out what should be presented as video and what should be presented as text*. Stop presenting things as video just for the novelty of it.
*Hint: About 90% of what you currently present as video would be much better as text.

Gotta agree...
Why isn't there a text alternative to the video?
This guy keeps going, "uhhh, ummmm," and he talks with question marks at the end of statements.
Plus this guy looks like he visited a salon so some guy in tight pants could mousse up his hair before the video.
Then for some reason this chillout-room music keeps coming in.
This would make a good article. The things he has to say would make a good list-format, or Q&A type article.
