"This content requires the Adobe Flash Player version 8.0.0. Get Flash"
Thanks, but the "Get Flash" link does no actual good.
Adobe does not produce a Flash Player 8 for Linux, although they promise 8.5 soon. Does this *really* require that version?
You seem to be running Microsoft Internet Explorer. That's fine and all, but the graphics may look very ugly, because IE doesn't properly support transparent PNG graphics like modern web browsers do. (Since they crushed Netscape, Microsoft hasn't had much incentive to really keep IE up to date — so much for innovation.) There's a hack to make it work, but it requires ugly scripting. This is only one of hundreds of good reasons to trade up to Mozilla Firefox. It's free, incredibly powerful and easy to use, and it's only a 5.0MB download. Please check it out — I think you'll be happier!
Not nice being hoisted by one's own petard, is it??
Oh, and this cartoon would have been much better at about two minutes. Kids are cute for only so long.
Rob -- there's a difference between "That's fine and all" and "arbitrarily doesn't work". Additionally, Firefox is open source and runs on just about any platform, so there's no real comparison. I'd happily install something if it was an option.
But really you're right; since IE7 will support PNG properly, that message is out of date and I should remove it.
Fucking brilliant! I loved it! This person needs to be doing more, more, more. I loved the bizarre stream-of-consciousness storytelling so representative of children and the way he totally came up with something to match it visually.
Using both Firefox and IE, I can't find a link for this video. I've installed the Flash player it requires. Any thoughts?
