CONtest

The poor puppy with the neurological problem wins?

Tuesday, May 15, 2007 12:54 PM

Huh?

Shouldn't that pup be seen by a vet?

Tuesday, May 15, 2007 03:16 PM

Yuk

This guy's got a problem with his swallowing. Get him to the doc.

How could anybody...

...watch that video and not realize the dog has some kind of serious problem? How could you possibly see this as "charming antics"??

Tuesday, May 15, 2007 07:30 PM

HUH?

THIS is the one who won "First Place"? *sigh*

Learn to Read Your Dog

The winning dog is not, as you so religiously and anthropomorphizingly attribute to it, BOWING! The dog's intent is to cover, hide or bury the food. This is a very common and normal gesture dogs make when they typically don't like something. Mainly the point is the dog is NOT BOWING! It is rather manic however so I would check the food, take the dog to the vet and don't laugh at it! Who judges these videos? Pathetic really, sad for the dog and kinda scary?

Sad, sad choice

Ditto the other comments. The dog either has a problem that should be evaluated by a veterinarian. Given the fact that the owner claims the dog does not exhibit the behavior when offered soft food, my assumption is the dog either has trouble chewing and has to throw the food into his throat in order to swallow it (whole, mind you) or as another has opined does not like the food and is forcing itself to eat it regardless.

I would urge Salon to remove this video as the first place choice as this owner clearly does not have this animal's best interests at heart. And, if you're not careful, animal rights activists will not only target Salon to criticize, they could try to identify the owner and do the same.

this is a pooch with a tooth problem

this was painful to watch. this dog has severe dental issues. his teeth hurt eating the food his clueless owners are feeding him. and to all the dimbulbs at video dog that laughed along with the owners you ought to be bitten by this poor pooch.

Clearly, This Dog...

...should be taken out and shot, AFTER its owners.

Burying the food

The behavior shown is not that uncommon. The motion isn't as much "bowing" as raking imaginary dirt and leaves over the food to save it for later. We used to have a terrior who exhibited the same behavior.

Sore Losers!!

First, let me say that anyone who posted a negative comment about Lil' Pup is a complete idiot and should be euthanasied. Lil' Pup has more brains in his tail end than any of you morons combined.

You're talking about a Dog that gets nothing but complements on his good looks, high intelligence and perfect manners, unlike you fools.

He has no problem chewing, he has no neurological disorder, he is just a very sensitive caring terrier and you all should be ashamed of yourselves. I recommend that 1) you get a freaking life and 2) take it with your own hand. If you need any help with step two I am happy to assist.

See you in Hollywood!

(or not)
