Double standard
The whole thing points to one STUPID fact...
It's RIDICULOUS!! "Guys Gone Wild" is as stupid and exploitive as "Girls Gone Wild". Watching college guys get drunk and have sex with each other and masterbate is no different that watching college (?) girls do the same thing.
In a messed up world like ours where heterosexual men can openly flaunt their perversion of arousal for underage girls rubbing each other's breasts in front of a camera, it's suddenly "eye-opening" when we see the same company selling DVD's of guys doing the exact same thing. It should've been just as "eye-opening" to see the girls doing it, too.
Paris Hilton filming herself choking down ejaculate launches her "career"... Colin Ferrel filming himself penetrate a black prostitute ruins his.

Duh -- straight or gay, guys are guys. Whatever you think of the "Gone Wild" series, enough straight guys get off on seeing women do this stuff to keep the producers churning out the DVD's. Why should it be a big surprise to you that a taste for this kind of thing should be just as prevalent in the gay population? I sure get tired of seeing the "Girls Gone Wild" ads when they run them back to back on some late-night show I'm watching. They're exploitative and smarmy. Of course, I'm also a big homo. I wish I could say I was disgusted by the "Guys Gone Wild" ad, too, but somehow the "guy" thing trumps that, and I can feel my brains get buried in the ground, at least temporarily.

1) Many (most?) hetero guys love hetero porn
2) Many (most?) homosexual guys love male porn
3) Few hetero women love hetero porn*
4) Some (many/most?) lesbian women love female porn
It may be cliche, but it's still an unanswered question of why men (hetero and homo) love porn more than women.** Testosterone? Maybe a little social influence, as well? Will women like porn more in the future, particularly if more styles of porn are successfully marketed?
*I know some women who enjoy male porn more than hetero porn...
**Yes, I realize that there are myriad types of porn. But overall, men still dig it more than women (though lesbian women may dig it more than hetero women on the whole)

A couple things....
1. I think it was actually "Alexander" that ruined Colin Farrel's career.
2. I think that straight women don't like most porn that they come across because it rarely seems pleasant for the woman. I've seen several porns that feature men slapping women's breasts, and I don't care who you are or how many implants you've had; that shit hurts. I was actually surprised the first time I saw any porn that focused on the woman and her pleasure. The majority of porn isn't like that. That's why most of us prefer (well-done) lesbian porn. Or books, as opposed to movies.

If you think Guys Gone Wild is just for and/or by dirty old men, then you must think Girls Gone Wild is too.
If you think there is a difference between these two franchises, you are sexist, homophobic, or both.
The destructive but implicit message here, that gay = pedophile, is so obvious, I shouldn't even have to mention it...but to find it on Salon is so shocking, I feel compelled to do so.

The sniff of disdain and the tone of contempt are not only homophobic, they're puritanical. Surely someone else with wit could have said something intelligent about this ad. It's an exhibionistic culture, get over it, and HH, get over yourself. If crotch shots make you uneasy, see a shrink.
