Television continues to grow positively filthy with the filthy rich. And where is the middle class? Demeaning itself for money on reality and game shows, of course
  • More poser poor than thou

David Sugarman feels free to make spurious assertions about how others have no right to comment or observe because they lack authenticity which he himself also utterly lacks, if you read all the asides in his many many letters.

He gives off the tone of someone who is no stranger to privilege, yet thinks every one of his experiences have given him deep wisdom while everyone else surely must be making shallow assumptions no matter what they've been through, because they are reading Salon.

Therefore Heather is a poser, no matter if she has been unemployed, without insurance, suffered illness and lived on couches - she's a Salon writer, and a woman, thus ripe for Sugerman's rambling contempt.

I do think David must be some kind of poor, since he can't afford a shift key. But mostly he's impoverished of a different sort of resource.
