...Till the Fat Lady Sings

He's gathering courage week by week. Not exactly to slay his father, but to repulse the demon that he sees. Torturing the college dead-beat disturbed him. The beating of the black bicyclist revolted him. Next week I'll bet he acquires a gun via his Mob University pals who want to test their criminal expertise. The gun will find its way into AJ's bright yellow -- warning sign, anyone? -- SUV. It will be available when he needs it.

The asbestos was dumped into the water. But the two didn't mix. Asbestos, the opposite of fire, dumped in water. Is there a birth or a rebirth to follow from this water scene?

The birth of a conflict. But what will crawl from the primordial swamp of the Meadowlands where it appears the asbestos was dumped? Does Meadow play into it?
The show can't end like The Departed with one clown after another falling to surprise gunfire. The writers won't disappoint viewers by killing everyone.
AJ's moment will come in the last episode after he completes his total rejection of mob life in the next two shows. Perhaps Phil Leotardo will attempt to kill Tony, but only wound him. AJ will put Tony in his yellow SUV, but in a moment of clarity he will become Tony and kill his father as his father killed Christopher.

"This works on the same principles of the universe"
One thing I thought of that no one pointed out -
There was a common reoccuring theme while Tony was under the effects of the peyote. Circles.
In the bathroom after throwing up, he saw a white circle on the ceiling - the light. Also looked like a moon.
then at the casino - the round devil sign - was a circle.
Then the Roulette table - a circle, then Tony's quote about the universe - he says it as if someone was talking through him. (the roulette table of course is also a circle)
Then finally at the end there is the sun - a big circle. It seems to "wink" at him.
Maybe this is suggesting that somehow things will come around full circle, however I cannot figure out how.
I do think AJ is headed toward death. He is at a point where he has nothing except the path his father took. He is already on his way. AJ seems week, but I don't think he is. He also seems a lot smarter than his dad. As far as him killing his father.. I don't know. I don't think he really has enough hate for his father. I could see that AJ gets killed by Phil, perhaps on accident during a failed attempt on Tony.
I do not think Meadow will die. It would be too much like Godfather 3, and everyone hated that movie.
The abspesteos (spelling?) in the water - it will keep the ducks away. I never really did figure what the ducks represented for Tony...
Silvio has had too little time on the camera. I suspect something is brewing with him. I think he is the wildcard right now. We really know so little about him.. why?
And Chris - I think his ending was cool - but I would have liked to see more expression on his face at the end. Michael is a great actor, especially in that role. I would have liked to seen Chris look REALLY scared before death, like he could see the hell he knew he was heading for.

I Get It!
Let me say up front that both Adriana and I were smiling when Tony finally decided to cut his losses with Christopher. He's put up with all the 12-step crap and "my precious baby" b.s. from his former heir apparent and finally, hearing that this rose-smeller is back on the hard stuff and looking at the smashed car seat, Tony makes a decision. Out of anger, sure, but I can't see that it is anything but the right decision at the right time.
But thank you to captainlarab for his take on that final, "I get it!" Tony is seeing what Christopher loved about the life as lived by the non-leader. It also shows me why AJ is doomed if he tries to go into the business as he lacks the base joy-in-thuggery exhibited by his current brat pack (or Chrissy), plus he doesn't evidence any of his father's aptitude for living in such a way that he can pass judgment on those around him AND act as executioner when he feels so justified.
I believe Tony is on more than one high at the moment and this is going to make watching him go down ever so much more gutwrenching!

hmmmm
"AJ's moment will come in the last episode after he completes his total rejection of mob life in the next two shows. Perhaps Phil Leotardo will attempt to kill Tony, but only wound him. AJ will put Tony in his yellow SUV, but in a moment of clarity he will become Tony and kill his father as his father killed Christopher."
That is really a good senerio - I could see it happening with the one tweak -
Tony will be mortally wounded by Phil and he will ask AJ to kill him, like he killed Christopher. But instead of doing it, AJ will refuse. He doesn't want to kill anyone, its not in him, and he will refuse. I think this will actually in a way be Tony's moment of clarity - his son isn't doomed like he is. There is hope for AJ. I think in this Tony will be pleased and sail off into death a happy(er) man.
Remember - it was Tony's dad that put the gun in his hand for his first hit.
Or - Maybe AJ will come into a situation where Tony needs AJ to kill someone and he will refuse, thus resulting in Tony's death.
