"We listened as his soul cracked"

In HBO's "Ghosts of Abu Ghraib" the "bad apples" express remorse, but claim that they were scapegoats.

Liberals Love Torture TV

Meanwhile, Jack Bauer was "at his brutal best" in the stunning conclusion of 24, Season 5.

my, my a raging asshole

hey, raging asshole, you getting laid lately? Sounds like you could use some kind of relaxation. A vacation, at least.

What I love about posts like yours is that they confirm the truth of every, single stereotype of the right-wing as composed of hopeless assholes. Now that the truth of your entire, fraudulent world-view is being exposed, you're getting just a tad touchy, ain'cha?

Keep it up. We're all laughing at you. Can you hear it?

Idiot.

whew...

this really is it, in a nutshell:

turned to look at the school secretary and I can’t even imagine the look on my face. She said “what’s wrong?” and I replied “Do you know what happened there? Have you seen the pictures?” She frowned and me and said “well, we’re at war you know, and bad things happen to bad people in wars”.

Then went back to her typing.

I think I knew this sometime in my teens: Americans are, for the most part, ignorant as dirt. And that is why our democracy works only for one purpose: to camouflage how rich, white guys (like Donald Rumsfeld, for instance), screw everyone else for their own benefit.

Does anyone here think that ONE PERSON further up the chain-of-command, will EVER be charged with crimes at Gitmo, or at Abu Graib, or anywhere else?

With that kind of corruption at the very heart of our system of government, how can we expect this system to do good? I'm not sure we can. Now or ever.

Now, if Dems took over all branches of government in 2009, and began investigations that would lead to charging people at the highest levels of government with war crimes, past and present...then I might take our system seriously.

But as long as Americans like that secretary get to vote, we are well and truly fucked, and that's the truth.

Cant Impeach Em, Lets Send Them to Germany

Rumsfeld, Cheney, Son of a Bush, and Condi Rice all need to be put on a plane and then into a German holding cell as they await trial for Crimes Against Humanity. If Americans don't have the balls to Impeach the Son of A Bush, then let the Germans give them their first day in court. After that trial the World Court can have it's way with them. Hopefully Mary Cheney and her little non political bundle of joy can visit Grandpa in a cold damp German jail.

Abu Ghraib vs. SF Gay Leather Pride

I don't see what all of the fuss is about. Judging from website photos there's rougher stuff going on at a San Francisco Gay Leather Pride event like the Folsom Street Fair. And Gavin Newsom signs permits for that.

"the children of Democrat politicians"

The word you're searching for is "Democratic". If you don't even know what you're talking about, why would you expect anyone to take you seriously?

And to answer your question: which documentaries by the children of Republicans do you want to be seeing? Oh, wait -- there aren't any. Your Republican masters aren't big on the truth, for one thing, and their children aren't big on working for a living.

However, I believe you probably do know something about boxing, as it seems you've gone a few too many rounds yourself.

Raging con,

the spawn of the repubs are too busy stealing from the government to engage in anything resembling work. (See Bush, Marvin and Bush, Neil.) As to your ugly comment regarding family size, it's the ideology of the repub base that seeks to restrict access to birth and abortion. It is the ideology of the repub base that people should reproduce like rabbits. Besides, the Kennedys are rich; they can afford large families.

Why is it...

that the only people who's documentaries seem to make it to HBO are the children of Democrat politicians? This one by another Kennedy (do they make Kennedys in a fucking factory, how may are there?), and that piece of shit produced by Alexandra Pelosi which may as well be titled "Liberal Elites Think Christians Are Funny". Screed for the Democrats, an embarrassment for HBO. Stick to boxing, guys, you can only fuck that up a little.

rumsfeld is one amazing son of a bitch

you may not get yours in this world, but i suspect you will be in for some surprises in the next.

i hope, given some time in power, congress will see that investigating these abuses further is in the best interests of the country and world. truth is truth, no matter what obfuscations are thrown at it. and the truth does indeed set us all free.

I resent the notion

that I don't care about unjustly imprisoned Americans, or those unjustly held without charges, counsel, or trials, and who are imprisoned in the various American concentration camps - including the ones that we know nothing about. I am a member of the ACLU, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch.

I vote democratic, and I try to educate everyone I know about what the Bush thugs are doing in our name. I'm old enough to remember the Army of the Americas. And I've been around long enough to know that Elliot Abrams and John Negreponte - among many others in the current regime - have the blood of thousands of innocents on their hands.

What else can I do? Short of picking up my boyfriend's M-1 Garand and blazing away at the asswipes who STILL have W stickers on their cars, WHAT DO I DO???

It makes me sick to my stomach to know that the US imprisons a larger percentage of its population than any first-world country. I KNOW that wrongly convicted people are rotting in our prisons. The human suffering, the loss of unrealized human potential, and the sheer costs of imprisoning these people are staggering. BUT WHAT ELSE DO I DO?????

Please respond, those of you who write that "Americans don't care." And be specific.

No Name, I'll ignore your unnecessary insults and answer the question

Any inmate in a California prison was arrested, charged and convicted by a criminal justice system which, while not perfect, at least has a stringent set of rules and guidelines in place to protect the liberties of American citizens and prevent the innocent from being incarcerated. The men in Abu Ghraib have been convicted of nothing, and many of them were simply guilty of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The men in California prisons are convicted criminals. The men in Abu Ghraib are simply suspected Muslim terrorists, and those doing the suspecting are often not very picky about whom they arrest.

If you say that you don't see the different, then it is you who is the pathetic liar.
