Letters to the Editor

Preparing for his 14th HBO comedy special, George Carlin waxes philosophic on the freedom that comes from not giving a #%&@.
  • I don't blame Carlin for not voting ...

I can SO relate, but I can't not participate with a clear conscience as there are people who died so that I can have the right to vote. I view voting as part of the price one pays for being here.

So I vote in every election and once I cast my vote, I divorce myself from the outcome b/c one vote is all I get.

I also feel that this world we live in is not "real" in any permanent sense. This is just where we happen to be right now. I make the best of it and go on. Maybe the "terrorists" will get me, but I refuse to waste my life being afraid of what might happen.

I'm feeling cynical myself today, so #%&@ it all, I plan to enjoy life while I can.
