bsg's move from friday to sunday

In addition to the usual "Only losers are home on Friday nights" argument for BSG's move, several of my friends and I independently came to the conclusion that the change was made to make the show less fun to pirate.

Many people who love the show have friends at work who also enjoy it. With the show airing on Friday night, they had the weekend to download the latest episode and watch it, and it wasn't spoiled for them on Monday morning - they could talk about it with everyone else because they'd watched it Saturday afternoon on the laptop. Now, with the show on late Sunday nights, it's basically impossible to get the hookup and watch the show before Monday morning. You watch it when it's aired, or you're covering your ears all of Monday while you wait for your torrent.

I don't know anyone who's anywhere near contemplating cable because of this, but many of them are a bit annoyed and upset by it. So, if SciFi wanted to send a not-so-subtle 'fuck you' to illegal downloaders everywhere - well, we heard you. Doesn't matter to me since my apartment came with cable, but my friends who aren't so lucky are pretty bummed.
