HBO's fourth season of "The Wire" gets inside the weary reality of Baltimore's neglected schools, while CBS's "Jericho" brings us the sweet nectar of apocalypse, at long last!
The letters thread is now closed.
  • The difference between fantasy and reality

screaming, hysterical masses, a nationwide catastrophe, and a small town having to fend for itself while the nuclear fallout rolls in. Now that's entertainment, folks!

Indeed. If this were reality, obviously, it would be a major American city left to fend for itself.

  • 'on Monday, "Scrubs" returns...'

Whu? I can't find any confirmation that that statement is true. What a very, very cruel joke to play on us Scrubophiles.

  • Weeds & Brotherhood Overlooked?

Fully agree on the wonders of The Wire. It deserved a crop of Emmys.

As for disappointing summer, how about Showtime's Weeds and Brotherhood? They made for a powerfuil 1-2 punch Sunday nites. True, Brotherhood was obviously modeled on The Sopranos and the relations between the brothers got soapy at times, but it was good to see blue collar folks made into central characters and to be reminded thst not all of today's political sleaze takes place in Washington.

  • Battlestar Bashing

Saying you don't watch Battlestar Galactica because you're not a nerd is like saying you didn't read Animal Farm because you're not into barnyards.

  • Scrubs

DaleBeck, I think Heather might be refering to Scrubs reruns airing on Comedy Central, rather than new episodes on NBC. I also got my hopes up for a minute or two after reading that sentence. :(

  • If you have not watched the new Battlestar Galactica...

you should not comment on it. BSG is one of the top five shows on TV regardless of genre.
