Reality hasn't intruded yet.
Got a call from a young woman today who is moving her office, and couldn't possibly be competent or knowledgeable enough to you know plug in her keyboard and monitor and stuff I mean that's just so beyond her abilities.
Kibbitzed with a couple of people, a man and a woman of a certain age, as am I, and reminisced about the good old days, when women really did kick ass (and not just do taibo). When you'd hear a woman say, "I don't need a fricking man to help me set up my computer!" (Except there weren't many computers back then, so substitute some other activity -- changing a tire, putting in an air conditioner.)
The truth is, the older and middle-aged women are far more likely to try to work stuff out on their own than the 20-somethings, and the 20-somethings around here are all college-educated best and brightest types.
Maybe it's the class and not the gender?
