    Unreliable Source

Obviously there is some degree of confusion over gender roles and that may be over represented on a number of new shows. But, I'm curious how the author would rate shows such as Medium, Battlestar Galactica, and Bones since they have both strong female and male characters. In particular, Medium has the most believable marital relationship on television in recent memory. While these new shows reflect some of contemporary society's anxieties with shifting roles and responsibilities between men and women (as well as the limited ability of largely neurotic TV writers to deal with these changes), television as a whole is hardly a reliable source to reach any legitimate conclusions about the current state of relationships.
