Here are some links concerning women and the supposed wage gap. I was hoping Robert Franklin would chime in, as he is very articulate on this subject, but here are some links. Women right now have the option to work or not, to be a house wife or not. Men do not have this option. It is changing slowly, but men are still largely judged on their ability to provide for their family. Women judge men on how much they are worth and how much power they wield, feminism be damned. A woman's so called "sexual capital" is very valuable. It is a huge source of power when it comes to finding a romantic partner and controlling a relationship, and when Brightstar is mentioning paying for sex, I'm assuming he means in the sense that guys have to buy drinks, pay for dinner, wine and dine and "woo" women, give gifts, have a nice car and decent apartment, job, etc...not pay for sex as in literally paying for a prostitute.
So if women have the advantage when it comes to romance due to their "sexual capital", have the advantage when it comes to anything having to do with domestic issues and the family; in court and in life. Have the advantage when it comes to education; the ratio of men and women in college as well as the "boy crisis". Have the advantage when it comes to the criminal justice system handing out justice. Have the advantage when it comes to any kind of domestic violence dispute, or situation involving perceived sexual misconduct, and the just plain ubiquitous cultural perception that men are inherently bad or worthless and women are inherently better, saturating the media these days. Whether its countless you go girl pop songs about women dissing lame ass guys, or the television shows listed in this article, or the endless portrayal of dads being either ineffectual or deadbeats. And if women no longer have a disadvantage in the workplace, well then who has it better these days, really?
