"Management"

It's nerd love at first sight for Jennifer Aniston and Steve Zahn in this aggressively quirky romance.

Spot-on review

I saw it. Not a good movie. The actors seemed like they were standing around waiting for the script to get better.

By the way, Zacharek (I don't have any idea if you even read the letters in response to your review) -- I gotta tell you, a while back you reviewed "The House Bunny" favorably, and so I put it in my Netflix queue. I finally saw it, and it was really funny! What's-her-name (ummm....Anna Faris!) was hilarious (especially when she would repeat people's names via "Exorcist speak" upon meeting them). Many of the supporting players were inspired too. Great recommendation. Thank you kindly.

I'm not interested in movies starring Jennifer Aniston. Is anyone?

They keep tanking.

She's not a good actress. She's not a good comedienne. She's not interesting to watch. The only movie she was in that I'd recommend is Office Space, and anyone could have played that role.

Re: Jen Aniston flicks

I agree that Aniston gives better performances in small movies, where she can play a girl next door and not rely too much on any larger-than-life charisma or screen presence. I thought she carried The Good Girl quite well--maybe the fact that her character was only pretending to be good made Aniston's quirky blandness more interesting than usual.

"Quirky Blandness"

Great phrase. That says it all.

I haven't seen The Good Girl, or for that matter Friends with Money, which looked interesting but for some reason I never bothered to see.

But she has a great GREAT ass.

THE only reason to see an Aniston film.

She is not the best but...

Jennifer was great in She's the One and Object of My Affection.

They cancel each other out

Hate Aniston (sorry, sleepwalking through "The Good Girl" did not impress me.)

Adore Steve Zahn.

What to do, what to do?

Friends with Money

I wouldn't say I liked that movie, but I thought about it a lot after I saw it, which says something. And I lived in LA at the time so a lot of the memes were snarky/funny. Jennifer Aniston was good in that role.

Too bad this seems like a good idea that trails off...I love Steve Zahn.

Aniston

She's not the next Streep, but I don't think she thinks she is. She's competent and doesn't really reach, but that's okay with me. As to her being a good comedienne, I thought she was wonderful on "Friends".

Have to agree with Randy

Jennifer Aniston was funny on Friends. A lot of the time, she was the straight (wo)man, which I think is under appreciated. I've also enjoyed The Good Girl, The Object of my Affection and She's the One.

I adore Steve Zahn and I'm sorry to hear that this movie probably isn't worth seeing.

Steve Zahn

I'm so happy to read that people are feeling some love for Steve Zahn. He is a great actor (check out the Herzog film Rescue Dawn if you haven't yet) and has an adorable screen presence. I'll probably check this out (on video) just for his performance.

@rnrunicorn

I thought she was okay, not great, on Friends. But then I thought Friends was okay, not great itself. And like Aniston long outstayed its welcome. However, television sitcom acting is very different then movie acting, and I don't think she's learned the skills of the latter. The standout performer on that show (and I think she's better in movies than box office would suggest) is Lisa Kudrow. Not the straight woman by any means, but a really dynamite comic actress.
