    I stopped reading after the snide Gore comment. Anyone so cynical as to think that was funny is too cynical to give any kind of science fiction movie a fair shake.

    Take a lesson from Roger Ebert, "a movie should be judged by how well it does what it is trying to do". That is not a cynical approach to movie reviews.

    Bernard Herrmann's musical score for "Fahrenheit 451" was great too, and his score for Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho" is one of the most familiar frenzied fanfares in film history.

    Bernard Herrmann and Jerry Goldsmith both composed some of the best Sci-fi movie scores ever.

    Jerry Goldsmith's music for the original 1968 "Planet of the Apes" is ominous, otherworldly, and unsurpassed...
