    Disappointed

I saw the film and I was disappointed for a number of reasons. I don't blame the director or screenwriter, per se, HPATOOTP was a difficult book to adapt to the screen.

Things happened so quickly and were unexplained that it seemed unsatisfying. One thing left out, IIRC, is Delores' admission that she ordered the dementor attack on Harry and Dudley.

Also, they had Sirius hit by an Avedra Kedavra curse from Bellatrix, so all the mystery and doubt about the arch and curtain in The department of mystery was lost, along with the wonder as to whether Sirius was really dead (he was, even in the book, of course).

The best part was the visuals -- the production design of Hogwarts and the Ministery of Magic. The parts at Sirius' house in London were shortened and less interesting. Oh, well, as I said it was a difficult book to adapt to the screen.
