plain janes aren't plain at all
I agree with the letter written by "miriald"-- I'm a fella who would also love to see the "ugly duckling" gender roles switched. I've become numbe to the constant stereotype of the "ugly, dumb-as-a-stump fat guy" hooking up with the "smart, sassy, smokingly-hot woman". Hollywood's definition of a Plain Jane is someone who's a size 4. Give me a woman prefers 'The Nation' over 'Cosmo' and prefers DOS over gloss. Looks fade; brains and heart are made of much sturdier material.
