For your take on this. I hadn't planned on seeing this, but now I will.
One thing which had bothered me in the trailers was the narrator's booming voice declaring: "Imagine a country where more people vote for their favorite performer than the next president" I thought that was facile reasoning. For one thing, most people don't have to take time off work and stand in the polling stations to "vote" for their favorite performer! It was a cheap shot, the type of soundbyte that most people take as a fact without really thinking about it.
(By the way,in this time of caller id, why are we not able to vote entering in our unique vote registration and last four digits of our SS# - blocked after one use - vote, then confirm our vote?) But I digress.
I do like a smart satirical take on issues, and this sounds good, having redeemed itself - based on your analysis.
