    A black man with a white woman would be somehow "newer" ?

    Tell that to Sidney Poitier. Other than that, you're taking a lighthearted comedy way too seriously. And that's coming from someone who has been in an interracial marriage for over twenty years. Personally, I think the more interracial romance is shown as normal, the better, irrespective of which gender is which color. Hopefully one day everyone will be light brown anyway.
