A FILM TO GLORIFY A RACIST IMPERIALIST -- "Golda's Balcony"

I'm a New Yorker who had to endure a couple of years of the disgusting posters announcing this disgusting play glorifying a racist colonialist ethnic-cleansing murderer. I was relieved to see the posters finally gone when the play finally closed.

Now I'm appalled to see that a Hollywood film is being made to glorify this lowlife bigot and murder whose persona in the USA rests entirely on myths, lies and propaganda.

Gold Meir once said she could not sleep well at night knowing that more Palestinian babies were being born. Her desire (and her policies bore this out) was to eliminate any vestige of Arabs from inside Israel proper and to suffocate the Palestinians in the territories. She was a soldier for the zionist project of ethnic cleansing, racist discrimination inside Israel, and brutal colonial occupation.

There is absolutely nothing to admire about this woman -- the fact that her bullshit reputation continues to be lauded in this country tells you everything about how ignorant, racist and backward Americans are.

Ah Golda

I guess women my age admired her becsue she was a strong female leader at a time when we were just trying to get on the corp ladder. Many may notice I do not type very well. In 1976 I had a large poster hanging on the wall of my cubical. The poster had black and white portrait of Golda Meir. Under her profile it read: "But Can She Type".

Too young?

Maybe I was too young at the time to get some of the "adult" jokes on Mary Tyler Moore, but something must have been registering. Now at 42 years old, seeing Valerie Harper immediately brings me back to the crush I had on her in grade school. Or at least the crush I had on her character. There was always an excitement about her that I was attracted too. I knew something was happening--I just didn't know what!

Golda and Goebbels: Partners doing the Dance-of-Death

"Look, I'd rather we have a bad image in the world and be alive than be very well liked and be dead. We had enough dead Jews in Germany." ~ Goldie Meyerson

(That spoken after Munich, when German snipers turned a prison-swap hostage situation into a bloodbath!)

Golda's sentiments would be understandable save for this: Palestinians had nothing to do with the Holocaust. The anger/angst Jews feel should be-- should have been-- leveled against Germans, not Mideast "neighbors" (especially ones raped/killed to get their land).

Israel's leaders act like the man who can't attack his abusive boss at work (Hitler's mad minions) and so does batting practice on his wife's head at home.

Also, how much Jewish guilt (from having aided Hitler via Jewish Councils) gets vented by oppressing Palestinians...who refuse to similarly submit?

Read books by Browning et alia about how the Final Solution evolved. It's as if Sharon and Olmert wrote the plan.
