...that Lyme Disease is even more epidemic now than in the 1970's.
And sadly there is still no standard treatment that works.
Nor are the tests very useful, which sadly limits the value of research done with patient groups that represent only a subset of the patient population.
I don't have a problem with this film, but I felt obliged to point out that the Lyme Disease problems are very real and our health care systems are clearly showing how fractured they are.
....to "Igby Goes Down" and "The Ice Storm", perhaps?
It sounds like a pretty good movie. I'll make an effort to catch it.
I hope they Google their historical references next time.
I still remember the time you claimed Dooley was a solidly Anglo-Saxon name, when Google says it comes from Gaelic for "dark hero."
You might try Google the next time you need to sort your Anglo-Saxons from your Celts. You might find there's some interesting history there.
Those 15 or so centuries of military, religious and economic competition between Celts and Anglo-Saxons in Britain still matter in America today.
It's no accident that the Celtic Kennedys are solid Democrats while the Anglo-Saxon Bushes are devout Republicans.
American politics are still operating under the influence of the Saxon invasion of Celtic Britain even now.
And now we have an Irish President O'Bama, so there you go, Mr. O'Hehir.
All these suburban dread and angst films that portray the 70's much worse off than now or even than they really were. I graduated HS in 77 and frankly there is nothing that could convince me that young people today have it better or easier or more fun or less oppressive. 90% of what WE called enjoyment is now a 'C' Felony. Today sucks and this is the worse generation in the history of people.
Oh great -- a movie about "suburban disfunction." What a novel idea!
But Kieran Culkin's character repeatedly mentions that his military unit may be called up because of the Falklands War
Hilarity 1, credibility 0. Cries out for the deployment of the word "egregious".
