Correction

Bobby Sands died in 1981, not 1982.

Many of his fellow prisoners supporter of the Good Friday agreement -- including, of course, principal architect Gerry Adams. Even if one were to accept the rather strange premise of the counterfactual "Sands would without doubt have opposed the long period of compromise and reconciliation that subsequently led to the Good Friday Agreement of 1998" the phrase "without doubt" is problematic.
