While I've read from most other reviews that apart from the fact that this is a film of Haneke's fame, Naomi Watts (who is the lead, as Susanne Lothar was in the original) has delivered a brilliant and most heart-breaking lead performance which leads to a great extent to the success of this remake, followed by Michael Pitt's one which you've specifically remarked as "extraordinary". Not only have you said nothing about Watts' lead performance, you seem also to have her deliberately slighted to be merely a member of the family headed and led by Tim Roth, whom you always mentioned before Watts in your review despite that he is only the 2nd listed actor, after Watts, in the official cast. Being an admirer of the talented but always underrated actress, I find your disregard of her and her work once again very disappointing.
Regards.
