...I can't believe this is real, and I can't wait to see this. I loved the first H&K movie, and yes, it is best enjoyed drunk (or stoned, if that's your thing). From the raccoon in the back seat to the imagined relationship with the big bag of pot, the movie is inspired in its random goofiness. The sequel looks great, and is that Neil Patrick Harris making a return appearance? They sunk my battlesh!ts!

Sounds like a winner.

It's Jack Daniels, not "Jack Daniel's." Incorrect punctuation drives me crazy, especially when it is committed by people who get paid to be writers.

I loved the first movie (saw it at the world premiere in Ohio, where White Castles were gifted to attendees by the sackful). At the time, I was incredibly impressed with the obvious chemistry Cho and Penn have, and commented to friends that they have the potential of being the Crosby and Hope of the new millennium.

I'm excited that the movie is getting great reviews.

I don't believe in passing judgment on movies I haven't seen, but I have to admit the premise for this one makes me a little queasy. Guantanamo is not a subject that I find easy to associate with light-hearted comedy, for the same reason that I found the show "L'il Bush" not funny: it's hard to find humor in friendly jokes about a man who sanctions torture.

I agree that I have no idea how they'll attack Guantanamo without trivializing it, and I'm hoping they manage to toe the line somehow. But you know what, comedy can be one of the most effective ways to deal with serious subjects. The audience who goes to H&K2 would never get near a documentary about Guantanamo, so hopefully they'll walk away with a little more perspective on it (albeit a stoneresque one).

Regarding "Lil' Bush," I tried to watch its premiere and couldn't get through 2 minutes. It didn't work for me at all; perhaps it wasn't vicious enough. That said, have you ever heard of the old Comedy Central show "That's My Bush!"? I got a bootleg DVD of that one. It's made by the South Park guys and it's really dumb, but what I find amusing about it is how balls-out disrespectful it is to the Commander-in-Chief. It started running in the summer of 2001, and quickly disappeared and was never heard from again after 9/11.

You should listen to the podcast, it's funny. The first reporter asks a kind of dumb question, "Was it fun to film?" and the three leads give a very intelligent and interesting answer about how difficult it is to perform comedy and get the timing just right.

There's another amusing exchange about an apparent scene featuring a "bottomless party," and a reporter asks about whether the extras are wearing merkins (pubic wigs). Pretty funny to hear the actors discuss the details of that...

From the podcast, the writers are talking about the fact that their DVD release is going to contain loads and loads of naughty extras. One of them they mentioned is that certain scenes will have a "choose your own adventure" element where you can pick which way a scene will go. Sounds like they used it as an excuse to pack more soft-core porn into the DVD release (since the DVD is what made the first movie so popular).

I love the idea of doing a choose-your-own-adventure DVD, and I hope some studio will make a real one sometime -- something that's actually intricate and has moral choices and is well-written and produced. When somebody figures out how to do this well, they are going to make big bucks.
