Made in America

I'm sincerely looking forward to seeing Stacey Peralta's film. I hope I have the opportunity to see Mad in America as shown at Sundance before the studios get a hold of it. I imagine critics and social pundits will rave what a refreshing perspective the film was. This is not a snarcky topic for Salon readers to comment on.

OK, Now What?

I cannot wait to see this film, from his interview Mr. Perlata might have gotten it right. My only question is what will happen now? Will he share any of the profits with groups trying to help these guys or will he head for the Hollywood Hills with his bag of loot?

Being a Black Man who lived in L.A. and was nearly killed accidently in a drive by shooting, I am all too familiar with 'the gang issue'. To think that there is an easy answer or fix to this problem is not realistic but I do think there is a solution. Lets hope you good "liberal yuppies" see this film and not have that terrified look on your face the next time you are standing next to me in an elevator.

In the immortal words of Bruce Willis in Die Hard, "Welcome to the party pal!!!"

Peace
