Food-starved baby-faced = oxymoron

Most people who remain "baby-faced" have leftover baby fat that keeps their faces looking soft and infant-esque.

Food-starved waifs usually possess hollowed-ot cheekbones and eye sockets - which is the complete opposite of the "baby face".

Also, I can't help but notice that many of the women on my campus who take joy in laughing at "emaciated" models usually make such statements while double-fisting Twinkies; I'm a real woman, proudly proclaims the big-boned, three-chinned girl with a BMI of 40...

Indeed, you are.

Just more proof that you don't have to be pretty to be a Mean Girl...

hmm...

And you think you are ..what....nice?..Anon?

"Two fisting twinkies"?...right..no exaggeration for effect there. Ooookay.

Funny piece, Cintra....but then I love your writing in general. I am a clothing designer, but you ..well..you couldn't make me be a part of that scene if you paid me.

I'll just labor away in mildly successful web based obscurity, thanks....

I love your writing too Cintra...

...but if the only way you can approach fashion, TV, etc, is by laying on the irony and pretending you can't take them seriously, why on earth waste your time with them?

More Cintra!

Anyone who is tired of Cintra Wilson is tired of life.

Just what we need

The 'perspective' on an entire industry from a person who has no interest in the product, thinks she is inventing criticism of said product, and writes a column about herself rather than the intended subject of her essay.

I can't stand this kind of 'journalism.'

Sharkey's Day?

If you heard the voice of William S. Burroughs, then you were listening to Sharkey's Night, not Sharkey's Day. I would think that generate a rather more dangerous atmosphere.

GFY

Cintra, we want the real news: did you see Heather and Jessica from Go Fug Yourself?

@ Uberfemme

LMAO - no, I am definitely not nice! I never took a vow of kindness.

My point was that there is a stereotype of pretty (and/or, dare I say, "slim"?!?) girls being mean and nasty toward the poor overweight girls...

But in my real life experience, many if not most attractive women I have met have been really cool - whereas some (but certainly NOT all) of the morbidly obese ones have been the meanest, nastiest, bitchiest people you would ever find.

Yeah, yeah, I know - it is all the fault of the slim girls and Ronald McDonald and the pictures in Vogue that they need to consume 10,000 calories a day. I also know that self-loathers tend to loathe everyone else too, to make themselves feel better.

I still stand by my original statement: Mean Girls aren't just 'Plastics'-types. They can be fat & ugly as well.

"I still stand by my original statement: Mean Girls aren't just 'Plastics'-types. They can be fat & ugly as well."

Oh gosh...I cant disagree with you there....

The meanest bitch I know weighs 450 pounds.

I'm just saying that "10,000 calories a day" and two fisted twinky stuffing is just as mean..

I mean...heck...I'm mean too, on occasion, being human, but I don't call people on their meanness much, simply because glass houses are dangerous in that situation.

Still....we are both talking about our personal experiences and extrapolating from there. Not always the best idea.

If we are gonna do that...why not be "Brightstar, the all knowing?"

(hopefully you know this infamous salon poster....so my point is understood)
