Nadir?
Don't be too sure. In my crystal ball, I see the future and it contains a "jailed lesbians" porno movie starring some large african-american dykes with tiny blond Paris. I can hardly wait.

Delighting in the schadenfreude
You know, Thursday was not a good day for me.
I'm 24. I had just gotten a new job at a great company. And Thursday, the big guy brings me into his office and tells me, "I'm sorry, but we have to lay you off. We're laying dozens of other people off today, and it was seniority based, and so you have to go."
And then I come home -- after being escorted out the side door of the building by a "counselor" -- and find out that the spoiled little skank with no talent and brains called Paris Hilton HAS BEEN LET OUT OF JAIL. And for what? Mental health reasons? As if no one else in jail is depressed and angry?
I thought then to myself, The world is shit. The world is not right. The world does not care if you're hardworking and smart. You will still be out of a job while this spoiled brat earns millions. And people pay her, watch her shows and idolize her even after the internet has already shown that she is a narcissistic famewhore, a racist and a bad person all around (does no one remember the "firecrotch" incident and how she egged on Brandon Davis?)
So forget those of you who are saying, "Oh, leave the poor girl alone. She's only a silly 26-year-old girl." No, she's not! She's 26 and she should be held accountable for her own actions. And those of you who are wondering why people care so much about this? Well, I guess you can just understand through the example of what I've just been through.
People, the economy is still kind of shitty. The average worker's pay is decreasing or holding steady while corporate profits are lining executives' pockets and not trickling down. Meanwhile, overseas competition is stronger than ever, and a lot of jobs are being outsourced or let go through attrition and layoffs. It's been tough on a lot of people in their 20s just entering the workforce, not to mention older people who are having to deal with increasing lack of job security.
And let's not even forget that there are people in their teens and 20s who are dying overseas in a war that's poorly run at best and unnecessary and disastrous at the worst.
And in a time like this, what does Paris Hilton do? She repeatedly drives drunk and endangers the lives of others, and when the judge finally throws the book at her, she gets out of jail on a bogus "mental health" reason.
Is that not supposed to stir anger and hatred like you've seen on this board?
So yesterday, when she was tossed back into jail to finish serving the rest of the sentence she so justly deserved, you can bet that it brightened my day. It made me a little happier, even though I was still out of a job, to know there is a little justice in the world.

We CAN fix this
We, the people, actually have the power to take away Paris's fortune, and with it, her fame. A massive boycott of the Hilton hotel chain, starting NOW!!

"Thou shalt not be rich, famous, young, and beautiful...else face the lash of spiteful, sadistic, editorial critique."
I'm seriously emarrassed for you. Take a look at this video, please - 2:53 minutes in and then 4 minutes in - and watch how your beautiful beleaguered princess spits out the word 'nigger,' 'public school bitch,' and 'fucking Compton bitch.'

If you know anything about Ms. Hilton - and I imagine you do, having taken the time to pen this impassioned plea on her behalf- this is certainly not a surprise to you. The clip above is not the only video featuring her throwing around the word 'nigger.' And yet, here you are, sanctimoniously defending away - which, wow. It just makes you look like such an unbelievable loser. Kinda reminds me of the dorks in high school sucking up to the mean popular girls - only you are, I'm assuming, an adult woman. That's so sad.

She's not in Prison or the Big House
Paris Hilton is in jail, not prison. If anyone should be quibbling over semantics, it should be a Salon contributor. Prison is a far more hardcore experience with hardcore inmates. County jail may hold felons on their way to prison but it is not the same, miles from it. Get it right. There is a difference.

@pjbabiba
i loved your post. thanks for saying it so eloquently - i felt much the same way as you thursday, and i'll admit that her going back to jail filled me with glee. because damnit - justice was *served* and sorry, but just as satisfying as it is to see the good guys winning is to bear witness, just once in a while, to the mean, racist and arrogant bad guys losing.

Petty envy blinds
Dear Ladies, petty envy blinds you. The Paris Hilton phenomenon is the cretaion of the media which you represent. In reality not Paris Hilton but you, the media should "show mercy on us all" and let all numerous Paris Hiltons go away. But the crumbs left from her and other celebrities' tables feed you very nicely. So you, the media, won't kill geese that lay golden eggs for you. Not only the Paris Hilton phenomenon but the hysterical public reaction to her release from jail puts the Americans not in a very favourable light. Paris, like her or not, appears to be a reincarnation of a Salem witch being condemned by the same law-abiding citisens who before that didn't hesitate to buy dubious potions of her making.

From the Simple Life to Prison Life
What goes around, comes around. Whether it is fair or not fair, and I think one of the first things I realized as a kid is that the world is not fair, Paris brought all this on herself. Maybe Nicole Ritchie will join her in the clink soon. Paris's whole persona, particularly on the Simple Life(which I watched a few times, briefly) was a spoiled, rotten, little rich girl who tried to corrupt most of the people she and Nicole met on the Simple Life or just made fun of their "simple lives". I don't know what Paris is like as a person, and I don't really pay attention to what she is doing, it is just that her whole thing, personality, is all about the media. So how can the judge do anything BUT throw her back in jail. Yes, maybe there will be a day where she just goes away...but u know....once she goes away someone else will swoop in and fill the void,
I will just hope that this whole experience might change her behavior......I realize wishful thinking......but it is a good thought to have!!!!!
