I am a Pentagon employee who saw first hand the 9/11 destruction. I witnessed the nose cone of the aircraft on A&E drive. I also saw the landing gear and wheel hubs. Let's stop this nonsense. I lost eight colleagues in the attack; we need to face reality!
One of the first skeptical books out after 9/11 was Gore Vidal's "Dreaming War." It seems that some of the same information showed up in Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 911" but Vidal had a pretty damning timeline constructed that clearly points to government manipulation. A question that no one else answers to my satisfaction is where were the military jets? Why were they grounded? Surely there are protocols out the yin-yang for scrambling the Air Force for a situation like this. Why weren't they enacted?
I don't think that Avery's points make the Occam's razor test but I'd really like to hear if Vidal's theories have been considered.
It merely proves that Manjoo once again shits on Americans unwilling to be collectively brainwashed by the most evil administration we've ever had.
In hindsight, it's hard to believe what the Nazis said about the reichstag fire. Perhaps by the time Manjoo leaves Salon and gets his gold watch from Thomas S. Monaghan, we'll have a new administration and a new president. Perhaps by then someone will give the official 911 commission's report a serious look and come up with a plausible explanation for the collapse of WTC7.
Until then, I will try to wait patiently for Salon to locate its spine.

How about "Reality Deniers" for those who believe the official pack of bull. The lid is coming off the 911 scam and Salon and the rest of the MSM are coming to be seen as the frauds they are.
Farhad Manjoo is not among them.
You have all but totally ignored the biggest smoking gun - WTC Building 7. What are you afraid of? I'd like to see you follow up this article with one explaining how and why building 7 fell so fast and so completely. I double-dare you.
Maybe you missed the $100,000 wire transfer Farhad?
Lt. General Mahmoud Ahmad, the head of the Pakistani ISI, an organization funded by the CIA, ordered Omar Sheikh to wire transfer $100,000 to Mohammad Atta.
Lt. General Mahmoud Ahmad was in Washington D.C. on the morning of 9/11, having breakfast with then Senators Porter Goss, Bob Graham, and John Kyl.
When it was reported by the Wall Street Journal that Lt. General Mahmoud Ahmad ordered the wire transfer, he was fired from his position as head of the ISI.
Daniel Pearl, a Wall Street Journal reporter, was believed to have been investigating the wire transfer, and as a result, his head was chopped off, and the main suspect is Omar Sheikh. The man who wire transferred the $100,000 to Mohammad Atta.
Nothing in the 9/11 Report mentions Pakistan's invovlement in the 9/11 attacks, and now there are allegations of bribery between Pakistan and the 9/11 Commission.
The CIA/ISI/Al-Qaeda connection is important in understanding how the U.S. ultimately controls "Al-Qaeda".
It's also a great way of showing the 9/11 Report is incomplete, and that the 9/11 Commission did not give a "Full and Complete Accounting" of the attacks of 9/11. Which was their mandate.
Also keep in mind, Porter Goss, and Bob Graham were in charge of the Congressional Joint Inquiry into 9/11.
Two people who met with one of the culprits of 9/11, on the morning of 9/11, in Washington D.C.
One person who eventually became the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.
Sound like a conflict of interest to you?
It does to me.

That's odd - the article ends saying there are five letters and then when i went to read them the message said 'there are no letters to display.' dee da dee da weird music please.
Whether or not the US government was involved in the actual 9/11 attack is less relevant than what they did in response. Which was to pursue a long held and carefully detailed Republican agenda of a neverending war on so called 'terrorism' - read our civil liberties. Liberal western democracies all over the world followed suit, beefing up police and defense spending and immigration laws, watering down citizen's rights and the very foundations of liberal democracy - the right to be assumed innocent until proven guilty for example, all in the name of September 11. No matter who was behind it September 11 was a bonanza for governments everywhere interested in gaining more control over their citizens.
The worst insult has been the way it's been framed in terms of a religious war - the forces of evil muslim fundamentalism against enlightened western christianity. For a start Jesus quite plainly abjured us to 'turn the other cheek' and I think in the case of war in Iraq and Afghanistan - both of which the US is pitifully losing, although Hallirbuton is undoubtedly winning with every extra million it makes - it would have been a far better response.
We will never know whether or not the terrorists 'acted alone'. (BTW - just because it's incredible that they pulled it off doesn't mean it's impossible. Same with the collapse of the Twin Towers - I'm always amused at a 'rational' paradigm that suggests that just because something cannot be explained it must therefore be false.) It hardly matters. In every matter since then the US goverment has acted in bad faith to hoodwink the public and create a very different world, filled with many more lies, pain, suffering, hatred and violence than previous to 9/11.
