Like gee whiz....wasn't it just last year that all of Oscar humanity was boo hoo hooing and paying attention to the very real and sad society we allow with Born Into Brothels. What a difference a year makes. Now we have Hollyweird all pimped out and jazzing up a song while exploiting black women (as if our culture doesn't do this enough already)and the KICKER is....that Hustle and Flow is about the true down & out, non-blinged category of the pimp...the real stuff baby ~ not the audacious Hollyweird stuff that we witnessed on Monday night. You ever seen a real pimp on Hollyweird Boulevard? You ever seen a real 'trick' getting her ever-lovin' face slapped? Well, I have....more than once....it ain't pretty, and it shouldn't get awards.
If I had one wish, I would wish that all the rich black atheletes, entertainers, musicians, business people, etc, etc, would declare WAR on the slavery that drugs and poverty keep their race in. I wish they would put their money into this lifestyle and bring about a change.
