This was the unfunniest article yet by Cintra (OK, just the latest. That Nancy whatever piece of crap was worse).
After years of tuning in to her Oscar bashing with glee, I was disappointed to see that she had obviously written most of the article ahead of time, even acknowledging she had her "awards" not inspired by the event, but already written, just waiting to fill in the blanks. When it didn't fit, she filled the gap with whining over why her pre-fab didn't fit, rationalizing it with the supposedly unapproachable plea for less conservatism.
The Salon audience deserves more than templated work, and clever ditties that are mangled to poorly fit.
The Oscars were conservative and boring, but the preachy complaining is even more so. Someone "castrated" Cintra as she worked up a juicy wad of spittle for the tongue-kiss of death: writing as boring and uninspired as the Oscars.
It is hard to believe this is the same person who wrote "A Massive Swelling", which was a great book. She looks too young to be so formulaic and burnt-out already!
