Oscar castrates himself

The Academy celebrates niceness, bleeps out "bitch" and pats itself on the back for good behavior. And what did they do to poor Jon Stewart?

So much bile, my gallbladder aches

    Dear Cintra,

Have you not WATCHED the Oscars in the last several years? I mean, c'mon, what were you expecting, cutting-edge entertainment? This is an event held by a group called The Academy. How much more staid and institutional can you get?

That said, I thought this most recent Oscars show the most entertaining I've seen in awhile. I thought Jon Stewart, while out of his element, did a great job with his subtlety, wit, and sarcasm. I liked the faux endorsement commercials, I liked Ben Stiller, the opening montage, the cowboy montage. I liked Lilly and Meryl. Lots of fun, entertaining bits in there.

Maybe it helped that I DVR'd it, so that I got to blast through all the commercials and watch it in its condensed form. Maybe watching the extra hour of annoying commercials is what caused you to spill out that bilious tripe you passed of as an 'article'.

I can't help but think of a young middleschool girl, who, in order to be cool, has to dis everything. That's basically what you did. Grow up.
