The Trump vs. Rosie year-end smackdown! More Regan allegations come to light. Plus: Madonna marriage woes?

The letters thread is now closed.

K-Fed?

Your name is Overexposed Nitwit.

Give K-fed some credit...

He really is starting to refine his sensibilities about what the general public wants; I think there are a lot of people out there who would like to see him get his ass kicked.

French and Saunders

Show a little respect for Dawn French. The show "French and Saunders" was around well before Ab Fab, which was created and written by Mesdames French and Saunders. Indeed, Ab Fab grew out of a sketch from the French and Saunders show. They are at least two-thirds of Absolutely Fabulous.

Does Donald Trump own a Mirror?

I've heard a minimum of 4 different quotes from Donald Trump regarding Rosie Odonell's appearance during this recent flap - fat, unattractive, ugly, etc.

Does this guy think that he gets laid by attractive women because he himself is attractive? He has another thing coming if he believes that.

He may have many advantages over Rosie, but degree of attractiveness is certainly not one of them. He is like a small kitten who looks in the mirror and sees a ferocious lion.

Trump vs Rosie

I'm more impressed that Trump is talking about Rosie making false statements about him when he is doing the same thing about her. The only true things he's said about her career is that her magazine is troubled and that she's fat.

That's it. She should sue him for lying about her old show.

Oh and does he think he is, a male model? He's fat and at least Rosie has a stylist and community involvement. The Donald only helps himself.

The Self Made Man

I don't know if Rosie is correct about all the comments she made about Mr. Trump, but she is definitely right about one of them. Mr. Trump was given $30 million dollars by his father when he was starting out in business. Don't believe me? It's in his book 'The Art of the Deal'.

I think 'The Donald' would counter this fact by saying that amount of money is basically chump change & such small potatos when compared to his current vast fortune. I, personally, think that is bullshit & that most anyone, if they had been presented with that amount of money could become quite successful (so long as they weren't hooked on blow or collecting solid gold cars).

Judith Regan's anti-semitic?

You mean someone who works for Rupert Murdoch is promoting hatred for people who think differently then they do? Why, knock me over with a feather, I'm just in so much shock!

Not a huge Donald Trump Fan, but...

I have to agree that both are probably right in what they have been saying about each other. Here is the part that gets me. Why do we the public enjoy this fodder? I think it is because we are seeing 2 high profile people act like children. It is funny to us. Pure simple laughter is about all I can say. I also feel like crying. What is the point to all of this? We love to see fireworks from our idols.

Ok, Now, who is right here? (for me, who cares?) Rosie makes a very strong case about Trump's lifestyle. Still, how do I give her much credence. I never saw her say anything bad about President Clinton when he was caught with his hands in the nooky jar. The most common stance in all of this has been that a person's personal life has nothing to do with their professional life or does it? I think a person's lifestyle and personal life clue you in as to what kind of a person you are dealing with. There is also the role-model part. If you are a popular person, famous, a leader, or what have you, you have another responsibility in the name of decency to act decent. Clearly, Clinton, Trump, and Rosie fall well short of that definition for me. Rosie is a lesbian and is pushing gay marriage, NOT DECENT. Clinton was a cheater, liar, and admitted adulter (oral sex is cheating), NOT DECENT. Trump, is a complete double-standard person in his own lifestyle, NOT DECENT.

I am not popular, I have not made millions of dollars, I have not cheated on my wife, I have not married same sex or advocated for it, and I have made my life day by day doing what is decent in this world. I am not a perfect person, and I have some bad habits, like I drink coffee, and sometimes still sneak a cigerette though I claim I have quit. There is no one that wants to hear what I have to say on decency and good behavior, but I bet I can "trump" either one of these two know-it-alls. I guess if you are a "decent" person, you cannot get famous and rich, and you will forever be stuck working every day to survive. It is sad that good people are stuck on the bottom and gready nasty bad people are at the top. They had all better hope there is not a heaven and hell, because if there is, then judgement day is coming. Remember, "judge not least ye be judged." Heck, I am not even religious. This is common sense. Let's move on to something important, instead of Miss Teen America, and Miss America, Donald Flunk and Rosie McDownerhold.

common sense........

You are judging gay people.Hippocrit.

Play it again Rosie...

Regardless of the merits of the latest spat, Rosie's starting to make me "miss" Star Jones. Now, that takes some doing...

Another lowlife's memoir:

"If I were anti-Semitic, here's what I would have said." Don't mind me, just free-associating here. Frankly, I'm happy to see this lowlife make a bigger and bigger joke of herself. I had thought she was Jewish and am happy as a clam to find out she isn't. In the post-OJ book fracas, can you imagine the slurs that would have come out from every quarter if she were?

Donald Trump & Rosie O'Donnell

In all seriousness, why would any sane person care what either of these two thinks about literally anything?

Thursday, December 21, 2006 03:03 PM

mmmmm --- k-fed

As a non-member of the target demographic, every time I see that "K-Fed" name I have to remind myself that Kellogg's is not in the farm feed business.

re: Common Sense

Criminitely CS, I rarely respond to Salon columns, (another slow work day) but your judgemental characterizations of Rosie et al as "NOT DECENT" begged for a response.

"Judge not lest ye be judged...."

Let the high profile celebrity nincompoops slug it out--Gladiotor style would draw a HUGE TV audience--but the rest of us...take care of your own, don't throw stones, leave the black kettles to flock together... live and let live, life is truly too short.
