Agreed that it's positive of Star Jones not to play the race card. But in fact, Rosie O'Donnell was hired to replace Meredith Viera, who left the show before Star made her surprise announcement. The View is currently considering other women to replace Star and you can bet your life that this new addition will be an African-American. I have even heard Whoopi Goldberg's name mentioned, but I doubt if the show could afford her and Rosie. It will probably be someone from the soaps. Kelly Ripa seems to have worked out for Regis.
