Times buys "Bleep." Neverland staff stiffed and "in trouble." Plus: Frey-gate fallout at Harpo.

Roma Locuta Causa Finita

Oprah is a corporation. This is what corporations do. I'm sure the lawyers at Harpo have been working round the clock to finalize the new vetting procedure they'll make each new Oprahlottery winner obey in the future. I don't see Oprah blessing only obvious works of fiction as this would have a negative effect on income. Maybe they'll take your kids hostage incase something 'doesn't work out'.

Bleep reviews always miss the point

What no one ever seems to mention about "What the Bleep..." is that all of this ground has been covered before. "Tao Of Physics", "Dancing Wu Li Masters" are just two of the best known attempts at showing how science is actually spirituality. But all of these attempts are reductionist: they reduce the existence of Spirit to material phenomena.

To paraphrase Ken Wilber, if the new physics is revealing the mind of God then all God is thinking about is dirt. Science is by its very nature materialistic. Just because it SEEMS to parallel some notion of spirituality doesn't make it that: it remains at best a metaphor.

Whether or not Ramtha aka JZ (and I've seen the flick, and she's certifiable as far as I can tell) is the leader of a cult is fairly beside the point. Everyone in this film is doing their best to equate the spiritual with the material, and that's bogus right off the bat.

Sorry to get so esoteric here in The Fix. I'm sure we'll all survive.
