What a wonderful feature this has been. I came across some very interesting music here and I enjoyed the commentary, too. This has been such an excellent part of Salon.
if you're going to put John Fahey in the same class as Kottke (I wouldn't...that's like putting George Winston in the same category as Ivan Moravec.. ;> )... you really should have included Chris Proctor, who is one of the gods of acoustic guitar.
