This band puts on a phenomenal live show. It's all brilliant - the thrashing guitars, spine-tingling four-part harmonies, electro-synth beats that make you want to dance. A must see.
I was really excited to see Michel Gondry's new movie, since I've enjoyed his music videos and loved Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (although I'm realizing the ingenuity of the film had more to do with Charlie Kauffman). Anyway, think twice before you make the same mistake I did. It's god-awful, a bloated, embarrassing mess of a movie whose stop-animation dream sequences (which, the first 100 times, are mildly entertaining) cannot save it from itself. I don't think it's opened in America yet. Be wise.
