Two fouls

Can I point out something that is lost in the Britney/Paris ad and whether its fair. Britney Spears is a troubled young woman who has been committed to a psychiatric hospital in the last year, on fears she would harm herself or others. She has substance abuse issues. She just lost her kids to her husband two weeks ago. Can't John McCain find another person to pick on who isn't quite so vulnerable. Its just plain tasteless to beat up on this young woman, who is fighting for her sobriety and her sanity particularly in light of his own family issues. Clearly, this man lacks the sensitivity gene. As for Obama. Isn't he the candidate who transcends race? The man who has moved beyond it. Yet, he never stops reminding us that he doesn't quite look like the usual politician. "Oh did I tell you that my opponent is going to hint I'm black, just in case you didn't know it, and he being a coded racist. He is being too cute by half and its time the media called him on it.

Not much

What to make of the Edwards fiasco. Not much. He is a sleaze for cheating on his wife. Hunter is a sleaze for cheating with a married man whose wife she knew had cancer. And Elizabeth is no saint either, playing the happily married college sweetheart wife to the hilt, even though she knew she had a troubled marriage. Least I seem harsh lets not forget her nasty crack about having made more joyous choices than Hillary Clinton. Time to say goodnight and goodbye John, Elizabeth and Reille.

Poor Joan

Your faith in human nature is so endearing. The facts are that the media is in bed with McLame and will never allow these two camps to have peace. Never. They analyze every pause, whisper, facial expression and blow it up to always support their narrative of the Democrats in disarray. Obama allows a roll call vote, standard operating procedure at any convention I've ever seen. Somehow its devolved into a Clinton plot to steal the nomination. The Fox News crowd is crowing that allowing the roll call shows Obama's weakness. But, had he not allowed the roll call vote, they'd had smeared him as being too weak, too afraid to allow a roll call vote of his nearest rival and ignoring the historic tradition of the convention. Its like the coin Harvey two face throws up. Heads you loose. Tails you loose. They want the GOP to win.

And?

Joan, you ask what should Obama do when people won't vote for him because he is black? I know, he can do a Robert Downey, put on whiteface and pretend to everyone he is a white man. How about accepting the fact there is a segment that wont vote for him and keep moving forward, duh. Obama knew when he started there are people who will never vote for him because he was black. Just as there are people who wont hire you for certain jobs because you are a woman. Studio's that won't make pictures cause the lead is a woman. I'm a twofer, black and a woman. Does that mean some of us should spend the rest of our lives dealing with their bigotry and debasing ourselves to win them over. No, you simply expand your horizons and go around them. Deval Patrick and Doug Wilder did. All those women who were first in their law classes and medical school did. Life goes on. And no life isn't fair.

Give it up Joan

Sorry Joan, but Hillary is a no-no. The fact of the matter is this. Humpty Dumpty is broke and cannot be put back together again. Things were said and done by both sides during the campaign that can't be mended. Barack needs to fight his own battles and win or loose on his own. I don't believe the nonsense that if he put Hillary on the ticket he'd loose ten points. Thats right wing scare tactics. I do believe if he puts Hillary on the ticket he couldn't govern the country because Bill and Hill would undermine him at every turn. Sharing is not in their DNA. If Obama wins without Hilllary he doesn't have to deal with the Clinton psycho-soap and if he looses, he will have lost on his own terms and won't have any regrets. As for McCain saying what he can and getting away with it what else is new? He's been doing it for years. Obama raised $51 million this month. He has the money to go on the attack, he should.

Hillary's big party!

There they go again. Maliciously stirring the pot. In the NY Times today, we have a story about how tepid Hillary's support for Obama is. All the quotes were about how Senator Clinton's heart wasnt in a speech she gave yesterday endorsing Obama even though in a 30 minutes speech she said vote Obama 10 times. There is nothing she or her husband can say or do that will satisfy the media. They want a split party to assist McLame and by God they are going to do it.

Enough

John Kerry did not loose the election because the public thought him a gigolo. He lost because George W. Bush was in the middle of the war on terror and provided a more compelling narrative. If the Democrats fight this election on character and not issues when all of the issues are going their way they are going to loose, sorry.
