Korporate Lyphe

This piece could have been subtitled: The Privatization of Science.

Or perhaps, the Corporatization of Lyphe (c).

Tomorrow I will learn that Microsoft has purchased all rights to my DNA.

Soon I'm sure I will be receiving a bill from General Dynamics for my monthly consumption of Gravity (TM). And all the fresh water rights have been auctioned off to a consortium led by Halliburton and Pepsico.

Does anyone have the toll-free number to Commonwealth Edison's customer service center in Bangalore? I have an issue with last month's OxyGen (c) charges.

Meanwhile children are dying in Africa because they haven't enough Coca-Cola!

Escape with your sanity while you still have your soul!

Mr. Tennis is an idiot.

MBA programs are the way they are for a reason: to cull the herd for the "Real World" of being a soulless corporate drone. The real corporate world is a totally amoral environment where the only "ethic" is the bottom line - where turning an ever-increasing profit justifies any behavior. If that suits you: Stay the course.

If you think you are unhappy now, try wasting the rest of your youth working twelve hours a day - and probably weekends - to make other people wealthy. That is, more wealthy. There is more to life than money and a cool car. At the end of the day it is love and friendship that save us from the abyss - to pass up the marriage of a lifelong friend to study for a midterm is a decision that will haunt you for years after you have forgotten what your grade was on that exam.

Escape while you still have a chance for a happy life.

RE: Should you appear on Scarborough Country

Joan:

When pompous windbags spew the sort of malicious and deceitful nonsense one routinely hears from Gingrich, someone has to say what you said. Someone must be there to tell Gingrigh he is full of umm... horse dung.

If not you, who?

Comey, Gonzo & the Sopranos

The video of Comey's testimony is shocking even knowing what we already knew about the "character" of the Bush Inc. goon squad.

If it were not real I would have sworn I was watching an episode of "The Sopranos."

Though I suppose many will have a tad of grudging respect for Comey and Ashcroft as there was a line that even these hardcore, dyed-in-the-wool ideologues would not cross, they did not start singing then and there, and Comey had to have his feet held to the fire before we heard his song.

These men are not patriots. Like George Tenet and Colin Powell before them, they prioritized their loyalty to the Neocon orthodoxy and the movement "conservatism" above their loyalty to our country and our constitution.

They are perhaps not as guilty as the rest of the Bush Inc. scoundrels, but they are plenty guilty nonetheless. If he were a patriot, Comey would have volunteered this testimony three years ago, instead he waited to be compelled only last week - like a mob stoolie trying to save his own skin and stay out of the joint. He must live the rest of his life in a cloud of shame for not coming forward in March 2004.

James Comey is just another rat jumping the sinking ship.

Pure Evil?

As someone once said: "Beware the True Believer."

"Rusticus" Redux

The MSM Punditocracy MUST demonize, trivialize and marginalize the Bloggers: the Blogosphere threatens the MSM monopoly on "Journalism" and "Truth" - it reveals the Punditocracy as irrelevent, out-of-touch, dishonest, and criminally duplicitous in the Iraqi genocide, the shredding of the Constitution and the Corporate takeover of the U.S. government.

Today the Bloggers stand as the true inheritors and descenants of Thomas Paine and the spirit of Rusticus. They are a constant reminder to the MSM of how far into the bowels of Hell they have descended. They remind us how far we have allowed ourselves to be driven from the vision of Jefferson and Madison.
