Original article: All hail the female orgasm

Just a continuation of man as hero

I think the part that I didn't like and that also seemed to be born out by the NYT photo was that some men attribute causing orgasms to their their power over womens bodies.. I've never liked the way some women attribute the orgasm as something "given" by someone else, rather than something experienced by a person. What that does is assign the giver "power over" the receiver. If its just an orgasm labratory why aren't some women "giving" other women orgasms or some men giving some men orgasms? Instead it is mimicking the usual power structure men as actors, women as grateful receivers.I think this mistaken attribution is one of the things that too often keeps women stuck in dysfunctional relationships.

The part where the men describe the woman's bodies in flowery descriptions also seemed to correlate with the article in Salon not that long ago that stated that womens sexuality was narcissitic, dependent upon being desireable. So in many ways this is not breaking research, just putting old assumptions to work.

The woman in the picture was all but swooning all over a guy who looked quite smug. They are attributing her orgasm to him, rather than the amazing force of her own ability to focus and deepen her experience within her body, whether thru a man a woman, her hand or a vibrator.

No, you weren't attacked-someone disagreed with your beliefs

Until you realize that you are not your political beliefs but much much more you will just be pasting a fake happy face over your rage. And that doesn't sound like a family reunion worth attending anyway.

And what is the point of living in a country that has free speech if you yourself cannot tolerate it?

I'm sure the last eight years gave you ample time to learn the art of evasion and you probably feel now it is their turn. But if they refuse to play nice the best thing you can do is play deaf and say "How 'bout that snowfall?".

Any inroads you can make in their worldveiw can only be made in a calm voice, open to dissension.Don't attempt it if you can't reply with the same detachment you would examine a rock. Forget email.Don't let them push your buttons.Demonstrate your commitment to rationality and discussion over party loyalty or really, aren't you just being them?

Marijuana really is a gateway drug

It is a gateway to seeing through institutional hypocrisy and opening one's eyes to the theatre of the absurd that is called morality and societal right and wrong. The price of this revelation is detachment and withdrawl from participation in society and is beyond cost estimation as is the oppositional behavior that results from needing to prove at least to oneself ,that one is not is part and parcel of such corruption.

Legalized pot threatens to allow many to fully engage with our country's potential for pursuit of happiness as well as its other lofty promises and that does not only include those people who would otherwise be locked up.

This must be terrifying to the government.

I worked in a methadone clinic

Many of our clients were functional working citizens. It was not at all unusual for them to cut down on their methadone for 4 day holidays or a week so as to to enjoy heroin for a few days a few times a year. if we take morality out of the question there is no reason drug use and tax paying can'tgo together After all how many working stiffs are addicted to prescription drugs , cigarettes, alcohol gambling etc.

i think we continually confuse addiction with the mentally ill or chronically poor which adds a whole another layer of judgement that makes it impossible to address the multiple issues .

There are in fact several problems parading as "addiction"

physical addiction vs dependence

poverty

racism

unemployment

mental illness

hopelessness

lack of medical care

I'm not sure how we seperate these issues for research but unless we do we will continue to associate the use of drugs with a lot of undesireable factors that seem related but may not be

Original article: All God's children

XJS AND ME -not only How many female children is daddy doing?

....but also how many mothers look the other way because they are relieved to not have to have another pregnacy, are just too damned tired, can see no financial alternatives to leave or have been brainwashed into believing that the father is working out of god's plan. The Mormons have one of the highest rates of incest in the nation.

Having that many children is basically a way of building your own prison. And most prisoners after a while prefer their cell as freedom is just too scary.

Original article: All God's children

This explains the republicans

Liberal women and men severely prune their childbearing hence fewer of them . Republicans maximize theirs.

The bigest indicator of someones political proclivities is their parents.I don't see a Democratic

takover lasting very long given these kind of numbers coming out of the Evangelical movement.

Quit trying to be so damn good

Don't answer your phone while doing other things and the same with email. Do what you can. Take your WHOLE lunch somewhere else and leave at five. Take 2 fifteen minute breaks in addition to lunch - its the law.You will be behaving sanely and the the spillover will force your boss to hire some help or lose business.

You go getters make the rest of us look bad and then you whine about how overwhelmed you are. You set your standard - don't blame the boss.

And when you have a kid - don't start with that perfect mother crap either -
