Happy hour exists for a reason

People often leave work deflated, humiliated and exhausted with the days script running thru their mind on endless playback. They need something to jog that script and put it in perspective. Martini's can do this , pot can do this and sometimes meeting her elsewhere for a cappucino or meeting her at a movie now and then right after work might be be a way to help her switch gears from self pity to oh yeah - look at this interesting world.Another possibility is a workout at the gym at that hour.

In case she 's not into any of these solutions - perhaps you should try them.

In addition it might be just the time for you to go to the library, the laundromat or take a walk,so she can enter the house and veg a little before having to interact.

After all since you get home early you have that luxury.

Make it personal for him

Show up at the office every week with a person of a differing

stigmatized nationality, even if you have to pay them, - bring in Iranians,Pakistanis, women in hijabs, flaming gays, Africans,Sikhs with turbans and Mexicans in cowboy boots.

Elaborately introduce them to him and perhaps a few other people n the office ,have them behave with infinte suaveness and refer overtly to their professions in physics, medicine, world famous restaurant owners, Ivy league academia and CEOs of million dollar start - ups.

They might even refer to using the services of the company at some time in the future. Make sure they ask him for his business card before they leave.

why can't Canada sue the U.S ...

for kidnapping and torture of one of their citizens or at least of depriving him of council?

Of courseI know nothing about international law , but isn't one state required to notify another state if they arrest one of their citizens so they can counsel from their embassy ?

At the least they can say they were deprived of their tax money .

Kaiser Soza:"Because of porn, men measure their sexual performance ...

not on their own satisfaction but on their partners. "

Oh Puhleeze - If porn were to be instructive for men there would be way more kissing! There would be play and suspense.

Instead porn is commercial formulaic product produced by a multi billion dollar industry for men to jerk off to.Porn is the ultimate corporatization of our lives- men can get instant sex from their computer and women can get fertilized from the local sperm bank (who gets it from ...porn) No need to look to anyone but the profit center for satisfaction.

I imagine the porn watcher as the same guy who thinks its great to play loud Metallica or make someone stand in one position for hours as a form of torture. In other words - a meth head .(the jackhammering gives it away)

Porn has made young men sexually unimaginative and insensitive, requiring more extreme and physical sexual sensations to match their own hamfistedness.

Porn is men masturbating to other men - just like the gang rape in Richmond.

A gang rape has more to do with homsexuality than it does with women

These men do not care who the victim is,they are really doing this to impress each other with their dick and prove they are not gay,at the same time they are copulating with other men.

Until all men decide that seriously communicating to other men that rape, tricking, and lying to women to get sex is seriously abhorrent, despicable, not funny, not manly, and an act worthy of making the perpetrator shunned, rape will continue to be viewed as "boys being boys".

Until the men in power decide funding the testing of thousands of rape kits languishing for decades in crime labs all over the nation is a high priority, rape will continue. As long as men talk about having sex with women in sports terms ,such as scoring , getting lucky and homeruns, rape will continue.Until men can view women as human beings, rape will continue.

Rape has nothing to do with how women dress or drink, and everything to do with mens idea of themselves as priviliged.

Send this girl a card of support

Richmond High School is accepting cards and donations for the victim and her family. They can be mailed to the school at 1250 23rd St., Richmond, CA 94804-10

A fifteen year old girl does not have a clear sense of what to expect from men, or from partying. They have barely left behind junior high school. But no woman deserves rape.If anything good comes from this case it is that many families will make it a point to to bring it to the attention of their children and start the discussion of how dangerous life can be and what is honorable behavior for men. Most rapes, like this one,are related to someone known to the victim.
