Yep,

this is a good piece by TC-F. It's consistently amazing how academia relishes bashing men. Does the study find miscommunication between the sexes? Yes, so it's the men's fault. Standard stuff. So thanks to TC-F for skewering this nonsense.

As for me, I've been married for 19 years, so my dating experience is not exactly fresh, but I fairly quickly discovered that it was a lot easier and more sensible to just let the woman give the signal when she wanted to have sex. That is, just don't try to push things beyond where they go naturally. My experience is that women are quite clear when they want to be, and when they clearly want to have sex, it's a lot freer and more fun than if they're unsure. If you have to work too hard to figure out what the message is, it's either "no" or ambiguous, so just wait til it's clear. That may get you laid about 5% less often, but that's OK.

One more thing.

As I said before, I like TC-F's take on this study. But the fact is that this is one small (90 people, all of them undergraduates) study whose "findings" don't amount to a hill of beans and it is likely only a single person whose interpretation of said "findings" is at issue. So while I agree with Clark-Flory, I can't get too worked up about this study.

All of which raises the question, "Since Broadsheet does occasionally notice anti-male bias in society, is this the best they can do?" The fact is there are plenty of quite important misandric aspects of society that need to be addressed. Broadsheet isn't constitutionally opposed to discussing misandry in American life, culture and society, so why not deal with something important like any of countless misandric practices in family courts?

Re: Kidd

It's one of the many problems with the NBA game that "stars" are treated differently by the officials than the other players. Was Michael Jordan ever called for travelling? I watched a Rockets/Lakers game this year in which Kobe Bryant shot 30 free throws. That's right, 30. Much of the NBA game consists of players doing things to try to convince referees that they've been fouled. Flopping on defense and leaning into the defensive player on offense. Of course stars succeed at this more than other players.

It's no surprise that Kidd gets special treatment. It'll continue to happen until the officials start treating the game as a game with rules applicable to all.

Uh, Cary

learn the basics. Many SSRIs kill the libido. If that's the medication he's taking, it's very likely the cause of his lost interest. And taking a vacation won't help.

If you're going to opine on this stuff, you should at least learn what's common knowledge.

I'd bet money

that how it happened was that school officials decided the dress was inappropriate and so she couldn't attend the prom. Once she was no longer invited to the prom, she became a trespasser because she had no right to be on the premises. That's why she got arrested and why she said that her only choices were to go to jail or go home.

Schools are given very broad discretion about setting rules of conduct, dress, grooming, etc for students. The only legal issue here is whether the school uniformly enforced its own rules. If it did, no one did anything wrong except the student.

I'm sure

countless people have already said this, but the good news about Friedman's new Cold War is that we'll win it in 6 months.

And what is the evidence

for the aforesaid misogyny? About 10 statements totalling about 200 words mostly made by people like Chris Matthews who will do or say anything to keep their mugs on TV. In typical feminist fashion, this means the culture is rife with hatred of women. How pathetic. There's more evidence that people believe in the tooth fairy than what the Clinton candidacy brought out to show misogyny. And of course the great irony of all this claim of misogyny is that about half the alleged perpetrators are women. You know the ones who say they'd never vote for Clinton. This is just more anti-intellectual feminist nonsense. Worse, it's entirely predictable anti-intellectual feminist nonsense.

It's about time.

I've been saying for years that until liberals make politicians pay a price for not being liberal, they'll treat us like the irrelevancies we are, the ones we choose to be. Politics is power and if we don't utilize ours, no one will pay us the slightest attention and there's no reason why they should. There's a reason why politics in this country has swung so far to the right in the last 40 years and we're it. If Democratic officeholders and candidates know they can take our votes for granted, why should they care what we think? Carney is a perfect example of that very calculation. Bill and Hillary Clinton are two others.

This reminds me

of anti-drug classes. It seems the last thing they want to tell the kids is the truth. Like sex IS pleasurable and drugs DON'T fry your brain like an egg. Then they can't figure out why the kids don't take them seriously. Hmmm.
