I was struck by the coverage of the media McCain vs Obama. I thought it was my imagination that my impression is that McCain and Palin are getting far greater coverage than Obama. I asked others, who said that they thought so too. The Palin attack on the media at her acceptance speech seems to have had the effect of intimidating them into a "go along" position, if not a silence position. For example: the lipstick statement of Obama was referred to again and again. When McCain used that same referrence against Hillary's health plan, nary a word was said. Yet the media has taken Obama's statement out of context and made it seem that Obama is "suicidal" I was witness to Chris Matthews praise and exhuberance over Palin's speech. I wondered whether he was engaged in CYA. Subsequently I found out that he was being replaced after complaints as to his bias. WAKE UP DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP. That leadership has inspired me to go from being a Democrat to being independent. What a sorry spectacle is the Democratic Party leadership.
The article proves to me that Americans will vote against their own interest, because they believe that the election is about a"beauty contest". Ignorance and unintelligence reigns supreme in the good old USA.
