My rep. is a moderate dem. who has told me that attempting to hold this administration accountable is a waste of effort,that we should be patient, and wait for Jan. 2009.

We met with our congressman(dem NC)

[Read more letters about this article: Here]this past monday to request that he endorse the Kucinich resolution and take a leadership role in impeaching this administration.He acknowledged his belief that Bush had committed impeachable offenses but opposed impeachment because it would "suck up all the oxygen" in congress(I heard Dodd make a similar quote last night so it must be a Pelosi/Reid talking point.).It has become obvious to me that the dems. are content to run out the clock with the expectation that the party's base will not abandon them in '08 .The dem leadership has absolutely no interest in ending the war before '09 and has no interest in holding Bush accountable for violations of his oath.The party is interested in one thing only---recapturing power in Washington.
Come '09 it will be a case of meet the new boss(es) same as the old boss(es).

Sen. Dodd has the potential to mount a Eugene McCarthy - like campaign focusing on preserving Constitutional freedoms and ending the war.
I am a lifelong dem who is disgusted with my party, including Harry,Nancy,Hillary,and Barack. I encourage all of you to seize this moment and get behind Dodd with your dollars and votes.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]is not that a gay man is running for senate, the real (sad) story is that this is the best the NC dems can do to challenge a mediocre republican senator. I live in NC (in fact i ran for congress on an "impeach Bush" ticket in 2006,but that's another story)and I can tell you that if our AG or treasury secretary ran(and why aren't they ?) against Dole, it might be a race. No one has heard of Neal and the NC dem party leadership is not competent to make him competitive.
Gay or not, no candidate the stature of Neal is going to get more than 40-45% versus Ms. Dole.
Just one more indication of how weak and pathetic my party has become...and that is real story !

Money changes everything ! I posted this a few days ago, but I continue to believe that the Dodd campaign makes for an excellent proxy response from progressives and independents who are tired of this administration's abuse of power and sick of the dems pathetic capitulation.If the netroots community floods the Dodd campaign with donations(however small)it will become a bigger story in the msm(and will scare the hell out of Harry and Nancy)
Support Dodd's fight to protect our Constitution !
