  • Kudos....

Seriously Awesome & Totally Justified SmackDown, Glenn.

  • My impression so far...

[Read the article: Alberto Gonzales testifies]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

... is that Alberto is in charge but not in charge really. There were reasons the AGs were fired but in retrospect maybe I don't recall all those reasons but one was a real close call and I wish I'd known a little more about that one but I take full responsibility for all of them even though I wasn't really taking part in the process. I'm protecting the kids. Sampson did it all but I will not ask him about it because I don't want to impede this investigation.

  • Alberto seems to be very unaware...

[Read the article: Alberto Gonzales testifies]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

... of things as they happen in real time.

It's only later, or in retrospect that he becomes aware or understands things that have occurred under his watch.

  • When I watch Krauthammer

[Read the article: Charles Krauthammer takes rank hypocrisy to new lows]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I just think he needs some serious therapy.

  • Something far more plausible...

[Read the article: Right-wing blogs discover massive conspiracy to hide WMDs in Iraq]

Somebody set up us the bomb...

    How are you gentlemen?

All your base are belong to us.

You are on the way to destruction.

You have no chance to survive make your time.

    HA HA HA

  • I agree he's maddening, but...

[Read the article: Mike Allen, consummate Beltway "journalist"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

...everytime he's on Washington Journal I can't change the channel. It's his goggle-eyed, breathless stuttering - much as I'd like to I can't turn away.

  • Brown T

[Read the article: Preordering week for "A Tragic Legacy"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

" it was difficult to avert my eyes, hold my nose or swallow my outrage."

Shouldn't that be "AND swallow my outrage."

    ???

  • WOW ! ! !

[Read the article: Richard Cohen's brilliant (and unintentional) exposé of our media]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Deliciously wicked post... One of your best.

    But not nearly long enough.

    ; )

  • Helen

    Rocks ! ! !

    Good job, Glenn.

  • Nice post by TRex, but...

    [Read the article: Various matters]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

...that comment thread was mostly an early '90s AOL chatroom. Really pathetic.

  • Really,

[Read the article: Bush's magical shield from criminal prosecution]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

this is simply Bush's attempt to streamline government. Make it more efficient. He's thinking, "Why go to all the trouble when I'm just going to end up pardoning everybody?"

  • Thank You ! ! !

[Read the article: Art movies: R.I.P.]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

To all the letter writers who suggested bands. I spent a guilty day (getting much less accomplished than I should have) yesterday with my headphones glued to my head going from one YouTube video to another. What a blast ! ! !

    Thanks Again ! ! !

  • Makes me...

[Read the article: The brutal, uncivilized Libyans]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    sick to my stomach.

  • M.O'Hanlon's Hilarious Statement/Admission...

[Read the article: A one-day guide to war supporters and their enablers]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

..."That oped may in retrospect have been somewhat too optimistic; I was wrong then myself in believing..."

If even the incandescently brilliant M.O'Hanlon can occasionally be wrong, so too can Patreaus, and stuff.

  • Sheesh ! !

    [Read the article: Various items]

"I'm saying that when America was "the Great Satan" to the Iranians, nothing America had to say could be heard by them." --- malamiyya

I didn't even bother reading after that line. I think Glenn is exhibiting great restraint and patience with your 'stuff' (when he's not being pretty fucking funny).

  • Shorter Shooter...

  • I'm so beyond Bush derangement syndrome...

[Read the article: WSJ Op-Ed page decries hatred of the president]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

... it seems like the good old days.

  • Even more outrageous than Joke Line...

[Read the article: Demand answers from Time magazine]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

"I spoke with some of those staffers on the day I first wrote about Klein's article. They were livid about the flatly false characterizations from Klein about their bill. I tried to get them to issue statements, and they didn't seem to want to (which I found both annoying and revealing - why shouldn't they protest publicly after being smeared like that??), but some did suggest they would contact Klein. I have no idea if they did."

Flip the coin & do you think for a second that Republican staffers would even hesitate?

    Unbelievable !!

  • A real shame...

... the Carlos Castaneda letter/thread was ever closed. That was some fascinating shit.

  • the near catastrophy

[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I happened to be watching the tube when Barbara Starr on CNN broke this news from the Pentagon with her typically stolid, breathless style of propaganda. When Barbara Starr reports I know without doubt it is an utter lie.

  • hmmmm..

[Read the article: Your Harry Reid-led Senate in action]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Sure a lot of retreating going on in the Senate.

  • What struck me while watching the video...

[Read the article: "The guys from the Politico brought my mom flowers"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

was that a shindig like this would absolutely bankrupt me.

  • Jeff Cohen Interview

[Read the article: Interview with former "Donahue" producer and MSNBC pundit Jeff Cohen]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Stunning.

Took me straight back in time to the point when my then landlord called me a terrorist sympathizer because I kept arguing with him about the invasion.

I always loved Jeff Cohen. The funny thing is that the Fox show, Media Watch, was the only decent show Fox ever had. And Jeff saying he'd have been better off staying there instead of going to MSNBC is sadly hilarious.

Anyway, thanks Glenn, for doing this.

  • Just witnessed the proof....

[Read the article: New heights of stupidity]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I was watching Obama's talk just now on CNN about his plans on Education. He prefaced it by addressing the pig lipstick broohaha. After about 5 minutes CNN cut feed to say they would come back if he had anything more to say about the Lipstick on a pig controversy. I had really been enjoying his talk on Education so I switched to MSNBC & watched approximately 10 seconds of his talk & they went back to the studio to say they would come back if he had anything more to say about the Lipstick on a pig controversy.
