Original article: McCain-Palin go negative

The Smell of Desparation

The air is thick with it. This may fire up the base, but the base isn't enough this time around. The Obama campaign has been registering massive numbers of new voters and swing-voters see the country heading towards a cliff. Changing direction a few degrees isn't going to make a difference towards the final outcome.

The campaign should take the high road unless the situation cries for a response. But the 527's should show no mercy. I don't think the media is going to let much of the obvious BS go unchecked, either.

Repubs are Praying for the Bradley Effect

I work under a bunch of repubs who think that Obama will win, but are hanging their hopes on a Bradley Effect in November. I had to excuse myself to run to the restroom and puke.

Listen, this is NOT a Democratic Bill

It was negotiated through bipartisan efforts and the proposal originated with a republican president. So those who say that the Democrats failed for not making 75-80% of their members vote for the bill can go f*ck themselves.

I wouldn't want the bill to pass unless there was a majority of GOP reps voting for it, because you KNOW they will be blaming the Democrats if everything doesn't work out perfectly.

I hate the idea of buying these loans, and would rather spend another week to beat some sanity into the process. Let the lenders keep the bad loans and add capital via acquiring preferred stock interests. Anything else is pure bullshit.

Timing is Perfect

Coming after yesterday's financial disaster. I think a lot of people got pretty shook up watching these huge companies fail (and then get bailed out by us taxpayers).

If anyone has the slightest concern about the state and fragility of our economy, they will listen to this ad in its entirety.

Make them go on the record

Obama needs to call the repubs out every time. By being proactive, you force them to go on record and alert the media.

The slimey elements of the republican party work best in darkness. A bright light needs to be cast on all the usual areas of malfeasance.

Given the McCain campaign hostility to the media, I am hoping they will actually do their job for once.

What she really said

It's OK to screw the government for every federal dollar you can get (regardless of whether it makes fiscal sense), but since Congress finally caught on and killed funding on this worthless project, we had to "call an audible" and move on to the next target.

Republican finance ethics in a nutshell.

Original article: Where she was saved

Spectrum Rider is Right

It's not the religion. It's whether she has the capacity to sequester her religious beliefs and act in the interests of ALL Americans representing a wide variety of religions. Given what I've read of extreme evangelists, nothing is subordinate to their understanding and implementation of "God's Will."

Can you say Holy War?

Tuesday, September 9, 2008 02:28 PM

@ BrianNelson

You nailed it, Bro.

While the pundits marvel at Palin's confidence, it's really just a reflection of her fatalism and conviction that she is part of "God's Plan." What me worry?

To extreme evangelists, there's only one America inhabited by the righteous. Political power is an instrument in implementing "God's will" and the rest of us heathen are obstacles to that end.

Anyone who thinks Palin will sequester her religious convictions while in office is kidding themselves.

Monday, September 8, 2008 07:21 PM

Right on the Mark

Palin's values ARE closer to a Muslim extremist than that of most (I hope) Americans, who should be able to distinguish between personal religious belief and the public servant's oath to the Constitution and ALL Americans.

The problem is, the media is deathly afraid to bring this ugly truth to light. Owned by their corporate masters, true journalism is practiced by the MSM at their peril.

Any moderate who has read or watched Pentecostal propaganda should feel a chill down to their bones. It is immediately apparent that to them, everything is subordinate to their religious dogma.

We must force the media to exert at least as much focus on her religious views and those of her churches as they did to Jeremiah Wright.

I'de like to see a few more polls

This one has a funny smell to it. Just because repubs are more energized results in a radical swing like this? What weight is given to "unlikely" voters?

This is not your typical election.

Yo Liberty!

You really should take your meds, man.

Original article: John McCain's female card

Zero Net Gain for McCain

"There are at least 10 million conservative, pro-life white women in this country."

And how many of those women were thinking of voting for Barack Obama? ZERO.

No true supporter of Hillary Clinton will vote for this ticket, which stands against everything Hillary is for.

This reflects McCain's very real concern that the republican base will not come out to the polls on 11/4.

Folks, the only "swing voters" left are the idiots. This choice has zero impact in getting people who will vote for Obama to the polls. Anyone who hasn't figured it out by now will NEVER get it.

Original article: McCain camp responds

to the GOP

Why does Obama hold his acceptance speech before 84,000 in Invesco Stadium? BECAUSE HE CAN.

I urge the GOP to put Grandpa out on a stage in any outdoor sports stadium of equal size and see if they can fly enough kool-aid drinkers in to fill it. They know they can't.

Saturday, August 23, 2008 07:24 AM

Bring It!

Besides his experience, Biden has a way of taking the words that just came out of your mouth and beating you over the head with them. Let's rumble!

Obvious response: Barack Obama has the judgment, now he has the experience needed to get us out of the mess the republicans have made these past eight years. What do you bring to the table, old man?
