Learned by heart
[Read the article: Will the war make us safer? Petraeus says he doesn't know]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Once Betrayus has learned his speech there is no hope that he will change it, else he may forget something or the rehearsede show will break down. We are winningt, we must win, things are improving, we must support the troops (who had no business in Iraq in the first place). As long as we stay until 2009 someone lse but Bush will be blamed for the loss (which is already clearly visible). In the meantime more soldiers are getting killed and maimed on behalf of a halfbaked strategy to start with. The best way to support the troops is getting them out of there and bring those responsible for this criminal b endeavour before the courts.

Thank you Mr. Ambassador
[Read the article: Lieberman to Petraeus: Your critics should be cheering]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Typical Lieberman.Whose interests is he really representing?

Wrong Question
[Read the article: Women are the new men on TV]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It should actually be: Whatever happened to TV. Period. If violence is not in a show it will not be succesful. Thanks for the Britcoms, on can at least have a smile and/or a laugh and enjoy them. Whatever happened to the production departments of the networks. Thank you to PBS for the am shows and their other sensible programming.

Sieg Heil
[Read the article: Bush on 9/11: The emergency continues]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hitler did that in 1933 and extended it until 1945 when he thankfully shot himself.

Small Price?
[Read the article: Republican leader: Iraq is a "small price" to pay]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Thousands of dead and maimed US soldiers, tens of thousands of Iraqis dead, millions Iraqi refugees, billions of Dollars wasted in an illegal war, the US economy threatened by foreign debts, the American people divided as never before? Mr Boehner join the Army and find out what it is really like. THAN COMMENT AND MAKE SILLY STATEMENTS.

Making semse
[Read the article: "The war as we saw it"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Reading these lines and comparing them to the official version as presented by General Petraeus it is clear as day who makes more sense. Those seven may not wear four stars but will face (or rather have faced in 3 sad cases)the average Iraqi without a slew of bodyguards and helo coverage as the average General would do. Therefore they sound a lot more believable than the two Bush appointees before the House committees. The fact remains, two of these brave men have paid with their lives and a third was seriously wounded. The saw what really goes on, had contact with the populace, and had the guts to publish their impressions. It remains far from the official version promoted by the White House and its formerly AWOL resident. The principal question remains: How many more soldiers will have to pay with their lives and health for a policy that makes no sense and will never succeed.

What me worry?
[Read the article: 2006 by 2008? Well, maybe not exactly]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]They are telling lies as soon as the open their mouths. You must be lamebrained to believe or trust either Bush or any of his buttkissers including Generals who claim to loudly that their report is their own.

De(fer)mented
[Read the article: Clinton, Petraeus and MoveOn: Giuliani smells a rat]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Bush, Cheney, etc.ect. Giuliani fits right in. Let others get killed.

The best way to admit a mistake:
[Read the article: Do you have to leave so soon?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I cant recall, I dont remember, again and again up to 56 times in one session. A really honest person fit to be AG in hell.

Taxpayer shellout?
[Read the article: A "small price" to pay in Iraq?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Taxpayers where? The country is working on a deficit, other countries (China) hold billions of Dollars in bonds and investments. Hope like hell they wont try to cash them in. Remember that at the end of Clintons presidency at least the budget was balanced. Bush magaged to add a trillion to the national debt. Greatgrandchildren -- be prepared to pay.

He spoke.
[Read the article: Cherry-picking and sugarcoating]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]He lied , as always. What else is new? But dont forget, God is telling him what to do, at least that is what Dubya says, just another lie.
-
Snow
[Read the article: An "enduring" commitment to Iraq]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Must have been the last Snowjob from the White House. From now on is it going to be F***s News again? Would not make any difference.
-
Buying time
[Read the article: Bush on Iraq: It's time for buying time again]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]How many more dead and maimed soldiers of the US Armed Forces? Actually even one is too many.

Military strategy expert?
[Read the article: Straight talking the Wall Street Journal]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]As time has proven GWB has shown that he is far from being that. Senator Mc Cain could not be classified as such either, however in contrast to George W. who went AWOL during the Vietnam war, he served his country as an Airforce pilot and was shot down over North Vietnam. During his time as a POW he endured mistreatment and torture with heroic spirit. He certainly kept friends in the military and his disagreement over the troopstrength at the outset of the Iraq disaster was probably based on that. He changed his mind more than once over the 4 plus years of the ongoing affair. Flip-flopping has cost him dearly amongst the electorate. Going after the far right and religious fanatics like Oral Roberts did not help him either. It seems his politics are of the same quality as his military/strategic expertise, very low in fact. Face the music Senator, save yourself some respect amongst the ordinary Joes and a pile of money as well.

Who is right?
[Read the article: Backtracking on the drawdown]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I tend to believe the officers who posted the ads for more civilian contractors when they spoke over increased activitis of their opposition rather than Petraeus statements about the decreased insurgency. Who in reality is telling the truth?Bush and the General or those who need support?

Shooting spree
[Read the article: Blackwater or black hole?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]That would be a better definition of the action mentioned. Blackguards would be a better description of the company involved.
-
Weapons
[Read the article: Guns, not roses, for Iraq]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Time reported that there were 90 small weapons per 100 Americans. Next came India with 4 guns per 100. Apparently Iraq was not counted. If those sales continue there may soon be 100 weapons per 50 Iraqis, an enemy country afterall. Got to make money, never mind how many Americans get killed as a result of those sales.

Romney
[Read the article: Kerry responds to Taser incident]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]He is absolutely right, a candidate like him needs to be tasered, better yet tarred and feathered.
-
Now we know
[Read the article: The buck stops ... over there]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Petraeus is going to be blamed to have lost the war. So implied the Deciders spokesperson. If I were the General I would subnit my resignation forthwith.

For Petes sake
[Read the article: The return of Karl Rove]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Rove it is time to shut up. You did enough damage already.

Ordinary Lifestyle
[Read the article: A chilly reception for the "return on success"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Outside the Green Zone it is recommended that you use an armored vehicle or preferably a helicopter, and stay away from anyone who does not wear a US uniform. Do as the presidential Decider does, stick to a base of US troops. Really ordinary.
