  • 9.5 what a month?

[Read the article: The cost of war]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Billions you said? For the War in Irak after Mission accomplished in 2003? What would that buy in healthcare for Americas poor? Or what could be done in the educational system? But than who cares? The goverment or the president and Co? Never mind, we can print even more money. Other countries had and have inflations, why not the US.Afterall China will take on more of our obligations until they own the country by calling in the massive debt. In the meantime we have to fight terrorism, there was always some of it, but we succeeded afteerall to get them out of the woodwork by invading Iraq. We brung them de-mocracy, they elected an assembly and formed a cabinet. Never mind that it is located in sone area called the Green Zone after the color of the prophets flag and strongly fortified and protected by US troops the favored target of , lets call them insurgents. Sounds better that way.We wont cut and run. No Sir, it goes a against the deciders pride, afterall he sits well protected in the White House when he does not aviate on Airforce One or chops wood on his ranch in Texas. While the Dollars disappear in a huge swamp of uncertainty. All while the economy is rolling and the Halliburton, Boeings etc.etc make oddles of dough, being printed in ever growing quantities! Good bless America, as our beloved leader usually ends his speeches.

    Sorry I said 9.5 billion, but than what are a paltry 200 000 000.

  • Percentages

[Read the article: A tale of two polls]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Seriousnotebook was surprised over the 30 some percent figure of those suspecting GWB to have a plan for withdrawal from Iraq.Well, there are quite a few illiterates, neocons and bornagains. All of them think of the decider as a reincarnation of something or other.

  • Scientology

    [Read the article: The Fix]

A Religion? What a joke! Prefer agnosticism myself, less bullshitty.

Warren Buffet has to be recommended for his decison on heritage. The Hiltons would have been well advised to pursue a similar policy. We all would not have due endure the multitude of pictures of this glorified hooker.

  • The issue

[Read the article: Capture the flag]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

There is an election in the works. The Reps need votes badly. What is easier to pose as the real patriots when in fact your actions are the opposite? Hypocrits can pose as anything they want. Lets hop the majority is intelligent enough not to fall for this game.

  • Surprise?

[Read the article: A win -- mostly -- for DeLay's Texas redistricting plan]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

What did anyone expect from this Parti-cular Supreme Court? Bush knew who he nominated. And dont wait for DeLays eventual appeal, this very same court will get him off.

  • Criminal Prosecution

[Read the article: Is it a leak if it wasn't a secret in the first place?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Rep. King got it right. There should be criminal prosecutions. However he did not get it quite right. Prosecute those who started an illegal war with lies and deception killing thousands, those who disregarded the constitution and broke the privacy of all citizens. Unfortunately these guys are not jounalists or work for the New York Times. Mr King would be able to walk to meet them. They are a lot closer to the Hill than New York. Please Rep. King carry on, somebody has to start prosecuting King Geoge.

What is the difference between Islamofascists and Neoconfascists? Please explain!

  • And than there were two!

[Read the article: James Dobson: Gay marriage is like slavery, only worse]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Gerry evidently joined James.-Does it make him feel better? Welcome tp the holy roller camp!

  • BS

[Read the article: James Dobson: Gay marriage is like slavery, only worse]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Seems Gerry ran out of it.As an agnostic I let everyone believe what he or she desires. Afterall 2 Pounds of Beef in a Gallon of water makes a hell of a good soup. Everyone can believe that.

  • Voting

[Read the article: One hacker, a little wi-fi ... and an election victory can be yours]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

What is wrong with a paper ballot,a pencil and a ballot box? The count is open, it may take a little longet than electronic voting, but short of ballot box stuffing (easily prevented) there is solid proof of the result. Sorry i forgot, undesirable (potentially democratic) voters can still be denied the vote, viz Ohio!

  • Ann Who?

[Read the article: Coulter: My enemies are "like my pets"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Forget her she is as dumb as GWB, and that is rockbottom.

  • SERE

    [Read the article: Torture teachers]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Teaching is one thing, using actual torture to teach is quite another.Who thought up those procedures? Soldiers of any rank who swore on the Constitution to uphold the laws and defend freedom? The Geneva Convention by virtue of the fact that the government accepted it became part of the military code, specifically prohibiting torture as a weapon. Alberto Gonzales as a young man may have been ignorant of this fact, but after studying law (after he weaseled out of active service, the taxpayers gave him the education for nothing) he should have known what was in this obligation to the USA in case of an armed conflict. He afterall advised the president of the redundancy of the convention. The bag over the head is typical, it seems to be an American invention, during my military service in WW2 I never came across it or even heard of it. Women served as Nurses and in clerical functions normally far from the actual fighting but not as interrogators of bound and nude men. What has happened since is simply disgusting. We better keep the victims in Gitmo etc. They will never stop hating us. And lets stop talking about bringing them freedom and democracy. Those methods are neither.

  • Neo-Cons?

[Read the article: And a happy Fourth of July to you, too]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Neo-Nazis would be a better description of Morgan, Coulter and those they admire. Nobody could ever assume that the resurrection of Hitlers ideals would happen in what the world admireD (capital D on purpose) as the standardbearer of freedom. Should we wait for the swastica? I hope not.

  • Whi needs checks and bakances?

[Read the article: Checks and balances? Not even within the administration]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Dont you remember we have the great decider King George and his minions in Washington! And the Hill? They are just decorations anyway. Exception is only found in some members of the Supreme Court, five to be exact.

  • Twin brothers

[Read the article: Taking the fall for an evil twin?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Are we sure that the earth is round not flat? At least the moon is not made of green cheese, NASA proved that. How did this brother get his twins ID when caught?
