  • Running?

    [Read the article: Hurricane Al]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I feel sorry for anyone running and winning in 2008. To clean up the mess that Bushboy, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Gonzales and gang are leaving behind surely needs a superhuman. Al Gore won one election and was robbed by the Supreme Court and his brothers Florida clique, GWB not only squandered the budget surplus left by the prior administration but blew billions and billions more on taxbreaks for friends including guys like Kennyboy Lay, invaded Irak killing and maiming not only thousands of the "enemy" but of American personnel. Some Mission, some accomplishment. Al Gore deserves better than to take over this mess. He is doing a great job by pointing out the dangers mankind is creating not only to the environment but to the whole human race. That is leadership and shows courage, something that the present administration does not have. Come think of it, he may just be the man to do it.

  • Surprise?

[Read the article: Hillary's sex life, Frist's gorilla surgery and Christopher Dodd]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

After the Steven Colbert pillorying the press at the White house affair, why is anybody surprised? The Press is sucking up and the exception like the veteran reporter Helen dont write for the likes of the Washington Post or New York times.

  • Privacy?

[Read the article: It's about competence, among other things]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

What privasy after NSA? Bush"s promises mean nothing.

  • House cleaning needed

[Read the article: The William Jefferson case, and what "some Republicans" say]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Jefferson, Delay, Cuningham etc. etc. Crooks all. 90,000 Dollars in 100 Dollar bills in tupperware inside Jeffersons freezer, a tape that shows the handover of the money with soundtrack yet. And the man says he is innocent. Who else keeps an amount of cash like that in the freezer instead of the bank? Is the intention of being a representative of the electorate to fill your pockets with other peoples money? I dont think so. There are rules to prevent such behaviour. Why are they not enforced? Does it mean these people are above the law. At least the FBI is colorblind, or so it seems. If law enforcement is prevented from doing its job regardless of the status of those suspected or investigated why have laws at all?

  • New York Times?

[Read the article: For the Times, another gutter awaits]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Just another crummy propaganda tool. Welcome to the freedom of the press to print all kinds of garbage, but be uncritical to the powers that be including the owners and publishers.

  • Marginal Notes

[Read the article: Cheney on the stand? Maybe so, and not just to authenticate a document]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Ambassador Wilsons article exposed a fat lie about WMDs, a lie that had by then already been questionable. Cheney as a power behind the king of liars had to have revenge. The well known philosophy of letting an underling take the rap is well established in the neo-con mind. Libby did just not scoot fast enough to keep out of trouble by revealing secrets to friendly reporters. If Cheney will be forced to testify, he will in all likelyhood lie and try to cover his behind. He did that way back during the Vietnam draft and has plenty of experience to shot others but not himself.

  • Poor Kennyboy

[Read the article: Lay, Skilling convicted in Enron case]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Now lets hope that the sentence hits home too.And he was almost the appointee for the kings energycommittee. I agree that he would look good in orange or stripes, but then so would the guy who almost appointed him and hopefully wont have the chance to pardon this thief and his companion Skilling. Too many people lost their savings through their machinations.

  • Hail to the cheese

[Read the article: Senate confirms Hayden as CIA chief]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

and quit talking on the phone or using the net. Big brother will be really watching. And listening, too.

  • Gay?

[Read the article: Is this Bob Ney's desperation play?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Oh my god, I forgot, the Vicepresident is every once in a while (or more often) talking to his daughter, and heaven help him, she is gay! Ney rhimes was gay, but most gays are probably not as stupid as Ney. There must be money in them thar hills in DC or at least more money, why else would those guys fight so hard to keep their cushy (and profitable) jobs?

  • Mistake? Which one?

[Read the article: If Abu Ghraib was a "mistake," what was Haditha?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

What about the appointment of Rumsfeld as Secretary of Defense, Gonzales and Wolfowitz as legal advisor or undersecretary with the resulting disregard of international agreements? What about the illegal invasion of Irak (Sorry I forgot: He tried to kill my daddy)having the death and maiming of thousands of Irakis and US and soldiers of the "Coalition of the Willing" as a result? Or about the billions of wasted taxpayer Dollars on this brainless enterprise? The list goes on and on and leads to the final question : Why was this incompetent put in the position to make all these goofs. Thanks to the fraudsters in Florida and the Supreme Court for making it possible in spite of the popular vote going elsewhere, and thanks also to Ralph Nader who diverted some of these votes, thus enabling the bogus results, not only of the election but everything else that has happened since, including the scene on the deck of an aircraft carrier with the infamous Mission Accomplished. A true leader like Winston Churchill would say: Some Mission, Some Accomplishment, in his most ironic manner.

  • Professor Feith?

[Read the article: A syllabus for the "stupidest guy on the face of the earth"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

What next? Professor Bush? George W,. that is. Going to be fun to be a student and impossible to beat the nonabilities of these liars.

  • Shots fired

[Read the article: A lockdown at the Capitol]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

According to later reports the "shots" were produced by a working crew and their air operated tools. As it seems all the hype about terrorists and criminals has produced enough fear to cause instant panic.

  • Interview?

[Read the article: Dick Cheney and the baton twirler]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Was one of the questions: How did you manage to avoid the draft and Vietnam, which baton did Lynne twirl? I doubt that it came up, afterall they both are on hometurf in Wisconsin.

  • Dinner with GWB

[Read the article: Presidential hide-and-seek: A primer]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I would not be caught dead in that situation. Would anybody? Its enough to see him stutter on a newscast, especially when he has to admit to a misdeed, like Marines going on a shooting spree. But then their slogen is : We learn to kill and kill we will! But Bush is boring and to sit thru a lousy meal at ridiculos prices? Gimme ma a break.
